Abstract The phosphagen of Protozoa is not identical with creatine phosphate, arginine phosphate, or the annelid phosphagen. Studies of molybdate inhibition of hydrolysis indicate that the new phosphagen is probably chemically more similar to arginine phosphate than to the other previously described phosphagens.
