Natural Convection From Protruding Heat Sources in a Channel
Heat Transfer: Volume 3, 2003Natural convection has important implications in many applications like cooling of electronic equipment due to its low cost and easy maintenance. In the present study, two-dimensional natural convection heat transfer to air from multiple identical protruding heat sources, which simulate electronic components, located in a horizontal channel has been ...

Mixed convection heat transfer from a horizontal channel with protruding heat sources
Heat and Mass Transfer, 2004A numerical investigation is carried out to study fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics of conjugate mixed convection from a two dimensional horizontal channel with four protruding heat sources mounted on one of the finite thick channel walls. The flow is assumed as laminar, hydrodynamically and thermally developing.

CONJUGATE NATURAL CONVECTION FROM AN ARRAY OF PROTRUDING HEAT SOURCES
Numerical Heat Transfer, Part A: Applications, 1996Abstract Coupled conduction and natural convection heat transfer has been investigated numerically for protruding heat sources mounted to one vertical wall of a rectangular cavity. The heat sources simulate an array of computer chips mounted on a substrate of finite thermal conductivity.

Experimental Heat Transfer, 1998
To explore the possibility of using solid-liquid phase change cooling to those periodically or intermittently operated electronic equipment, a detail of experimental study of time-dependent melting heat transfer in a rectangular enclosure with three discrete protruding heat sources is presented. A series of experimental measurement in an enclosure with

A Simple Thermal Model for Mixed Convection From Protruding Heat Sources
Heat Transfer Engineering, 2014This paper reports the results of numerical and experimental investigations of conjugate mixed convection from a vertical channel with sets of protruding heat sources. The goal of this study is to investigate the possibility of obtaining reasonably accurate results with a simpler or compact thermal model that replaces a set of protruding heat sources ...

Mixed convection transport from a protruding heat source module on avertical surface
Journal of Thermophysics and Heat Transfer, 1990An experimental study of mixed convective transport from a protruding heat source module mounted on a vertical surface in an externally induced flow has been carried out. This problem is of particular interest in the design of thermal systems, such as the cooling of electronic circuitry and positioning of a heating element in a furnace. The temperature

Abstract This study is to experimentally investigate the heat transfer enhancement by perforation in air cooling of two in-line rectangular heat sources module. Two separation distances between the heat sources were investigated at s/L = 0.5 and 1.0. The area between the heat sources in both cases were perforated in aligned arrangement such that the ...
