Analysis of Mixed Convective Cross Flow Near Protruding Heat Sources on a Vertical Circuit Board
Heat Transfer: Volume 1, 1997Abstract The effects of cross flow mixed convection on discrete mounted heat sources on a circuit board of finite thickness has been analyzed in this study. In this type of flow, the orthogonal free and forced convection result in a three dimensional boundary layer flow.

Abstract An experimental study of natural convection heat transfer from a heat source module of finite thickness, mounted on a vertical or horizontal surface, is carried out. This problem is of particular interest in the removal of thermal energy from heated elements in manufacturing and electronic systems.

Abstract The problem numerically investigated is that of steady, two-dimensional laminar natural convection in a system of parallel vertical channels with a single protruding heat module mounted mid-height on a substrate of finite-thickness. The input heat flux at the base of the module is removed through the module to the flow by convection and ...

Buoyancy driven turbulent plume induced by protruding heat source in vented enclosure
International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 2018Abstract The buoyancy driven thermal plume behavior inside a partial square enclosure with protruding isothermal heat source block is numerically investigated. The turbulent flow is modeled by using unsteady Favre-averaged Navier-Stokes (UFANS) equation with buoyancy modified Lam Bremhorst low Reynolds number k − ϵ model.
