Germination responses to water potential and temperature variation among provenances of Pinus yunnanensis

, 2021
Provenance selection plays a major role for the afforestation success, resilience and persistence of forests into the future. Understanding the germination response to water potential and temperature among provenances is crucial for forest restoration ...

Provenance

IEEE Security & Privacy, 2016
Collecting and processing provenance, i.e., information describing the production process of some end product, is important in various applications, e.g., to assess quality, to ensure reproducibility, or to reinforce trust in the end product. In the past, different types of provenance meta-data have been proposed, each with a different scope. The first

Modulation of C:N:P stoichiometry is involved in the effectiveness of a PGPR and AM fungus in increasing salt stress tolerance of Sulla carnosa Tunisian provenances

Agriculture, Ecosystems & Environment. Applied Soil Ecology, 2019
Sulla carnosa (Hedysarum carnosum Desf.) is an important legume grown as animal feed on salt-affected areas. Here, we assess the influence of plant-growth-promoting bacteria (PGPR) (Bacillus subtilis) with or without the mycorrhizal fungus (AMF ...

Plasticity of response of tree-ring width of Scots pine provenances to weather extremes in Latvia

Dendrochronologia, 2019
Climatic changes and weather extremes are causing shifts in distribution of tree species, affecting productivity of forests. With the northwards advance of deciduous species in Northern Europe, Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) is predicted to decrease ...

Differences in growth and gas exchange between southern and northern provenances of silver birch (Betula pendula Roth) in northern Europe.

Tree Physiology, 2019
Due to its ubiquity across northern latitudes, silver birch (Betula pendula Roth) is an attractive model species for studying geographical trait variation and acclimation capacity.

Photosynthetic capacity and leaf nitrogen decline along a controlled climate gradient in provenances of two widely distributed Eucalyptus species

Global Change Biology, 2018
Climate is an important factor limiting tree distributions and adaptation to different thermal environments may influence how tree populations respond to climate warming.

Provenance semirings

Proceedings of the twenty-sixth ACM SIGMOD-SIGACT-SIGART symposium on Principles of database systems, 2007
We show that relational algebra calculations for incomplete databases, probabilistic databases, bag semantics and why-provenance are particular cases of the same general algorithms involving semirings. This further suggests a comprehensive provenance representation that uses semirings of polynomials.

On provenance and privacy

Proceedings of the 14th International Conference on Database Theory, 2011
Provenance in scientific workflows is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, recording information about the module executions used to produce a data item, as well as the parameter settings and intermediate data items passed between module executions, enables transparency and reproducibility of results.

Coastal and interior Douglas-fir provenances differ in growth performance and response to drought episodes at adult age

open access: yesAnnals of Forest Science, 2014
ContextSince the 2003 drought and heat wave, Douglas-fir dieback has been reported in France in trees older than 30 years. Consequently, it is questioned whether selected Douglas-fir provenances are suited to the frequent and severe drought events which ...

The Provenance of WINE

2012 Ninth European Dependable Computing Conference, 2012
The results of cyber security experiments are often impossible to reproduce, owing to the lack of adequate descriptions of the data collection and experimental processes. Such provenance information is difficult to record consistently when collecting data from distributed sensors and when sharing raw data among research groups with variable standards ...
