Sculpteurs-marbriers en Provence

open access: yesBulletin du Centre de Recherche du Château de Versailles, 2013
The marble quarry in Trets, in the heart of Provence, has the distinction of being operated by just one family: the Veyriers. Throughout the seventeenth century this dynasty of sculptors and architects worked from Marseille to Genoa for almost a century.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Finite element analysis of the action of buoyancy-induced and thermocapillary flow on the melting of tin in a 2D square cavity

open access: yesComputer Assisted Methods in Engineering and Science, 2023
A finite element model has been developed for the computation of melting/ solidifying process under the combined action of buoyancy and surface tension forces. Validated on the square cavity benchmark of Gobin and Le Quéré (Bertrand et al.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

Gypsum karst of France [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Speleology, 1996
Many small and scattered areas of gypsum karst are present in France. They occur in the plains and plateaux (Paris, Lorraine, Provence) as well as in the mountains, especially the Alps.

Enhanced representation of spectral contrasts in the primary auditory cortex

open access: yesFrontiers in Systems Neuroscience, 2013
The role of early auditory processing may be to extract some elementary features from an acoustic mixture in order to organize the auditory scene. To accomplish this task, the central auditory system may rely on the fact that sensory objects are often ...

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Noblesse, seigneurie et féodalité : écrire l’histoire de la Provence médiévale au xxe siècle

open access: yesL'Atelier du CRH
The partition of Provence operated in 1125 between the Marquisat, the county of Forcalquier and the county of Provence, has been seen from the XIXth Century on as the main origin of the complexity of feudal networks in this region. In the 50’s, the ...
