De Novo Design of Integrin α5β1 Modulating Proteins to Enhance Biomaterial Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
NeoNectins are de novo‐designed miniproteins that selectively bind and stabilize the extended open form of integrin α5β1. When grafted onto biomaterials including hydrogel and titanium, they promote cell attachment and spreading in vitro and promoting tissue integration and bone growth in animal models, demonstrating broad potential for regenerative ...

Flexible Selenium Nanowires with Tuneable Electronic Bandgaps

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Nanotubes serve as effective test tubes for selenium nanowires, as their diameter precisely controls the width of the nanowires and the Se─Se bonding, resulting in a variety of different structures. An electron beam can be used to modify the nanotubes, allowing real‐time observation of the nanowire extrusion process. Additionally, optically transparent

Suppression of Stacking Faults for Stable Formamidinium‐Rich Perovskite Absorbers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The authors show that the (011)C perovskite planes are prone to stacking faults formation in all leading formamidinium‐rich perovskite compositions. Using ethylene thiourea as a precursor additive, Othman et al. suppress those vulnerable facets, significantly enhancing the absorber's intrinsic stability under various operational conditions.

Organic Ferroelectric Synaptic Transistors for Neural Image Recognition Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
All organic transistors, where both the dielectric and semiconducting layers are polymeric, are developed as electrical synaptic devices. Two copolymers of PVDF as the dielectric layer with large differences in their saturation polarizability and memory window are chosen.

Proverbs and Identity: A Study of Hadoti Proverbs

open access: yesEntrepalavras: Revista de Linguística do Departamento de Letras Vernáculas da Universidade Federal do Ceará, 2015
Proverbs are part of oral tradition in a society. They get meaning when they interact with a context, either when they precede or follow it. Proverbs, like any other linguistic element, are culturally meaningful in a given context. They are part of every society, and Hadoti proverbs are no exception to it. Such proverbs create a sociolinguistic reality

A Dynamic Spike Sorter for Multiscale Nanoelectrode Array Recordings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This work introduces a dynamic spike sorting pipeline that isolates diverse electrical signals from nanoelectrode arrays. Using biophysical simulations to calibrate signal processing, the approach reveals relationships between action potentials and membrane fluctuations, advancing the understanding of neuronal network excitability.
