Significance of Coronary Artery Spasm Diagnosis in Patients With Early Repolarization Syndrome
BackgroundPreviously described patients with early repolarization syndrome (ERS) may have experienced silent coronary artery spasm (CAS) because the diagnosis of CAS was mainly based on symptoms or coronary angiography findings, without performing a ...

Nucleocytoplasmic transport: a thermodynamic mechanism [PDF]
The nuclear pore supports molecular communication between cytoplasm and nucleus in eukaryotic cells. Selective transport of proteins is mediated by soluble receptors, whose regulation by the small GTPase Ran leads to cargo accumulation in, or depletion from the nucleus, i.e., nuclear import or nuclear export. We consider the operation of this transport

Manifesto for Putting 'Chartjunk' in the Trash 2021! [PDF]
In this provocation we ask the visualization research community to join us in removing chartjunk from our research lexicon. We present an etymology of chartjunk, framing its provocative origins as misaligned, and harmful, to the ways the term is currently used by visualization researchers. We call on the community to dissolve chartjunk from the ways we

Gaze cuing of attention in snake phobic women: the influence of facial expression [PDF]
Only a few studies investigated whether animal phobics exhibit attentional biases in contexts where no phobic stimuli are present. Among these, recent studies provided evidence for a bias toward facial expressions of fear and disgust in animal phobics ...

This study presents a 3D representative volume element‐based simulation approach to predict mesoscopic residual stress and strain fields in silicon solid solution‐strengthened ductile cast iron. By modeling phase transformation kinetics with an enhanced Johnson–Mehl–Avrami–Kolmogorov model, the effects of varying cooling rates on residual stresses are ...

Application of neural networks to identify trolls in social networks [PDF]
In this paper we developed and tested a new algorithm of detecting in social networks users (so-called trolls) who behave in an insulting and provocative way towards other users. In order to detect trolls it is proposed to unite users in groups where all the members have a similar way of communicating.

Residual Stress States in Microstructurally Graded PBF–LB/M Austenitic Steel Components
This study examines microstructurally graded 316L rectangular tube profiles fabricated via PBF–LB/M using a dual‐laser system. A 1 kW top‐hat and a 400 W Gaussian laser create distinct grain sizes and crystallographic texture. Mechanical properties are linked to microstructural evolution driven by processing conditions.

Loss of control defence-Fit for purpose? [PDF]
This article examines the case law on the loss of control defence and considers whether the interpretation of the defence has been too conservative so that the defence is barely available as a defence to ...

Systemic provocation in doxycycline induced fixed drug eruption: a case report [PDF]
Fixed drug eruption (FDE) is recurrent lesions that upon repeated uptake of causative drug, always appears at the same skin and mucosal site. Determination of causal relationship in drug allergy is very important.
