PALMNUT: An Enhanced Proximal Alternating Linearized Minimization Algorithm With Application to Separate Regularization of Magnitude and Phase

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Computational Imaging, 2021
We introduce a new algorithm for complex image reconstruction with separate regularization of the image magnitude and phase. This optimization problem is interesting in many different image reconstruction contexts, although is nonconvex and can be difficult to solve.

Dual pKa Lipid Nanoparticles for Lung-tropic mRNA Delivery and pH-Programmed Endosomal Escape. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
Lipid nanoparticles’ bottleneck lies in low endosomal escape efficiency and liver‐dominant delivery after intravenous administration. To overcome these limitations, we present a stepwise pH‐programmed lipid nanoparticle system enabled by our newly synthesized ionizable lipid.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Wearable Smart Patches on Sustainable Chitosan With Reversible Microbial Growth‐Inhibitory Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chitosan, a polysaccharide upcycled from biowaste, has long promised sustainable, biocompatible, and antimicrobial films and devices, an appeal reinforced by its recent regulatory recognition, with several chitosan‐based antibacterial dressings gaining clearance through the Food and Drug Administration's 510(k) pathway.

Adaptive Linearized Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers for Non-Convex Compositely Regularized Optimization Problems

open access: yesTsinghua Science and Technology, 2017
We consider a wide range of non-convex regularized minimization problems, where the non-convex regularization term is composite with a linear function engaged in sparse learning.

Self‐Sintering Ionogel Binder for Flexible, Recyclable, and Healable Printed Giant Magnetoresistive Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electronic waste has emerged as a major environmental challenge, driven by the massive consumption and a limited lifetime of modern electronic devices, stimulating the development of sustainable electronics. Here, an all‐biomaterial gelatin‐choline‐citric acid ([Ch][CA]) ionogel is developed as an active binder to realize self‐sintered ...

Fog-Assisted Operational Cost Reduction for Cloud Data Centers

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
In this paper, we intend to reduce the operational cost of cloud data centers with the help of fog devices, which can avoid the revenue loss due to wide-area network propagation delay and save network bandwidth cost by serving nearby cloud users.

A Novel Method for Asynchronous Time-of-Arrival-Based Source Localization: Algorithms, Performance and Complexity

open access: yesSensors, 2020
In time-of-arrival (TOA)-based source localization, accurate positioning can be achieved only when the correct signal propagation time between the source and the sensors is obtained. In practice, a clock error usually exists between the nodes causing the
