Some Best Proximity Theorems for Generalized Proximal $\mathcal{Z}$-Contraction Maps in $b$-Metric Spaces with Applications [PDF]

open access: yesSahand Communications in Mathematical Analysis
The simulation function and the notion of $\mathcal{Z}$-contraction concerning $\zeta$ which generalizes the Banach contraction principle and unifies several known types of contractions involving the combination of $d(fx, fy)$ and $d(x, y)$.

Digital Actuation Control of Soft Robotic Origami With Self‐Folding Liquid Crystal Elastomer Hinges

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐folding soft‐rigid hybrid robotic origami is enabled by liquid crystal elastomer actuators with embedded Joule heating and closed‐loop digital control. Digitally addressable hinges provide reversible and programmable transitions between distinct folded states while maintaining actuation performance at high cycle counts (over 1500).

Best proximity points for alternative p-contractions

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications
AbstractCyclic mappings describe fixed paths for which each point is sequentially transmitted from one set to another. Cyclic mappings satisfying certain cyclic contraction conditions have been used to obtain the best proximity points, which constitute a suitable framework for the mirror reflection model.

High Entropy Wide‐Bandgap Borates with Broadband Luminescence and Large Nonlinear Optical properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐entropy rare‐earth borates exhibit excellent nonlinear optical and broadband luminescence properties arising from multi‐component doping, chemical disorder, increased configurational entropy, and increased lattice and electronic anharmonicity. This formulation enabled us to obtain a large, environmentally stable single crystal with 3X higher laser‐

An Implementable First-Order Primal-Dual Algorithm for Structured Convex Optimization

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
Many application problems of practical interest can be posed as structured convex optimization models. In this paper, we study a new first-order primaldual algorithm.

From Mechanics to Electronics: Influence of ALD Interlayers on the Multiaxial Electro‐Mechanical Behavior of Metal–Oxide Bilayers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ultrathin AlOxHy interlayers between aluminum films and polymer substrates significantly improve electro‐mechanical properties of flexible thin film systems. By precisely controlling interlayer thickness using atomic layer deposition, this study identifies an optimal interlayer thickness of 5–10 nm that enhances ductility and delays cracking.

Emergence of Tri-Phasic Muscle Activation from the Non-linear Interactions of Central and Spinal Neural Network Circuits [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The origin of the tri-phasic burst pattern, observed in the EMGs of opponent muscles during rapid self-terminated movements, has been controversial. Here we show by computer simulation that the pattern emerges from interactions between a central neural ...

Best proximity point for \(\alpha\)-\(\psi\)-proximal contractive multimaps

open access: yes, 2014
Summary: We extend the notions of \(\alpha\)-\(\psi\)-proximal contraction and \(\alpha\)-proximal admissibility to multivalued maps and then using these notions we obtain some best proximity point theorems for multivalued mappings. Our results extend some recent results by \textit{M. Jleli} and \textit{B. Samet} and those contained therein [Bull. Sci.

Bio‐Inspired Molecular Events in Poly(Ionic Liquids)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Originating from dipolar and polar inter‐ and intra‐chain interactions of the building blocks, the topologies and morphologies of poly(ionic liquids) (PIL) govern their nano‐ and micro‐processibility. Modulating the interactions of cation‐anion pairs with aliphatic dipolar components enables the tunability of properties, facilitated by “bottom‐up ...

Variations in the Relationship Between the Frequency Content of EMG Signals and the Rate of Torque Development in Voluntary and Elicited Contractions

open access: yes, 2002
Our purpose was to characterize the relationship between EMG mean power frequency (MPF) or median frequency (MF) and rate of torque development in voluntary ballistic and electrically elicited isometric contractions.
