Best proximity results for p-proximal contractions on topological spaces
In this article, we investigate some sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of best proximity points for the topological p-proximal contractions and p-proximal contractive mappings on arbitrary topological spaces. Moreover, our results are illustrated by a few numerical examples and they generalize some known results in the literature.

In this paper, we introduce the notions of proximal Berinde g-cyclic contractions of two non-self-mappings and proximal Berinde g-contractions, called proximal Berinde g-cyclic contraction of the first and second kind.

This article studies new classes of contractions called the p-cyclic Reich contraction and p-cyclic Reich contraction pair and develops certain best proximity point results for such contractions in the setting of partial metric spaces.

Best Proximity Point Theorem for α ̃–ψ ̃-Contractive Type Mapping in Fuzzy Normed Space
The best proximity point is a generalization of a fixed point that is beneficial when the contraction map is not a self-map. On other hand, best approximation theorems offer an approximate solution to the fixed point equation .

Proximal pointwise contraction
The authors introduce the concept of proximal pointwise contraction and study a best proximity point on a pair of weakly compact convex subsets of a Banach space. Their main result generalizes a fixed point theorem for a pointwise contraction on a weakly compact convex subset of a Banach space due to \textit{W.\,A.\thinspace Kirk} and \textit{H.-K ...

Best proximity point theorems for generalized proximal contractions [PDF]
This paper deals with best proximity points of mappings \(T\) with no fixed points, that is, mappings for which the equation \(Tx=x\) does not need to have a solution and then the interest is to find such points \(x\) minimizing \(d(x,Tx)\). The typical situation in this paper is a mapping \(T: A\to B\) where \(A\) and \(B\) are non-empty subsets of a ...

ESOPHAGEAL MOTILITY IN MEN AND WOMEN EVALUATED BY HIGH-RESOLUTION MANOMETRY
BACKGROUND Esophageal motility has been described in the literature as having differences between men and women. Most of these investigations use the water perfusion method for esophageal manometry.

Effects of Laryngeal Restriction on Pharyngeal Peristalsis and Biomechanics: Clinical Implications [PDF]
To date, rehabilitative exercises aimed at strengthening the pharyngeal muscles have not been developed due to the inability to successfully overload and fatigue these muscles during their contraction, a necessary requirement for strength training.

SOME COMMENTS ON BEST PROXIMITY POINTS FOR ORDERED PROXIMAL CONTRACTIONS
Summary: In this article, we focus on the existence of an optimal approximate solution, designated as a best proximity point for non-self mappings which are ordered proximal contractions in the setting of partially ordered metric spaces and prove that these results are particular cases of existing fixed point theorems in the literature.
