Proximal ulna fractures are relatively common. They range in severity from a simple transverse olecranon fracture to a highly complex fracture dislocation involving a comminuted coronoid process. The anatomy, fracture pathology, treatment approach, and rehabilitation are presented in this article.

Difference Between Posterior Monteggia Fractures and Posterior Fracture‐Dislocation of Proximal Ulna in Adults [PDF]
Objective To figure out the difference between patients with posterior Monteggia fractures which were concomitant with proximal radioulnar joint (PRUJ) dislocation and posterior fracture‐dislocation of the proximal ulna that were not concomitant with ...

Vascular Anatomy of the Proximal Ulna
To describe the intraosseous arterial anatomy of the proximal ulna.We used 9 fresh-frozen, above-elbow amputations to map the intraosseous arterial supply using the Spalteholtz technique. We treated 3 additional above-elbow amputations similarly, and then dissected them to map the extraosseous arterial supply.

Osteochondroma of Proximal Ulna - A rare case presentation. [PDF]
Osteochondroma is a most common primary bone tumor which forms due to exophytic protuberance on the surface of growing bones. Proximal ulna is an atypical location for osteochondroma. The case report is a rare solitary presentation and has been only twice reported in the literature. This case reports a rare presentation of a 35 year old Hindu male with ...

Intraosseous neurilemmoma of the proximal ulna.
Neurilemmoma is a benign nerve sheath neoplasm commonly located in the soft tissue. Intraosseous neurilemmoma is rare, constituting less than 1% of primary bone tumors.A 21 year-old woman was presented with left elbow pain of 1-month duration. Plain radiographs showed a well-defined, lytic and expansile lesion of the proximal ulna.

Intramedullary compression device for proximal ulna fracture. [PDF]
Proximal ulna fractures account for 20% of all proximal forearm fractures. Many treatment options are available for such fractures, such as cast immobilisation, plate and screw fixation, tension band wiring and intramedullary screw fixation, depending on the fracture pattern.

Rotation Restored: Fascia Lata Interposition for Proximal Radioulnar Synostosis after Olecranon Plating [PDF]
Introduction: A debilitating side effect of comminuted elbow or forearm fractures and their surgical treatment is proximal radioulnar synostosis (PRUS), which is defined by heterotopic bone bridging between the radius and ulna and nearly total loss of ...
