A Flexible Proximity Sensor Fully Fabricated by Inkjet Printing

open access: yesSensors, 2010
A flexible proximity sensor fully fabricated by inkjet printing is proposed in this paper. The flexible proximity sensor is composed of a ZnO layer sandwiched in between a flexible aluminum sheet and a web-shaped top electrode layer.

Combining Sensors Information to Enhance Pneumatic Grippers Performance

open access: yesSensors, 2021
The gripper is the far end of a robotic arm. It is responsible for the contacts between the robot itself and all the items present in a work space, or even in a social space.

Physics of proximity Josephson sensor [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics, 2010
We study the proximity Josephson sensor in both bolometric and calorimetric operation and optimize it for different temperature ranges between 25 mK and a few kelvin. We investigate how the radiation power is absorbed in the sensor and find that the irradiated system is typically in a weak nonequilibrium state.

5G mmWave patch antenna array with proximity sensing function for detecting user's hand grip on mobile terminals

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2023
We propose a new concept millimetre‐wave patch antenna that integrates the functions of an antenna and a capacitive proximity sensor to detect the hand grip state for 5G mobile terminals and compensate for the hand effect.

The Simultaneous Assessment of Time and Motion Response during Dual Tasks

open access: yesSensors, 2023
Measurement of reaction time in clinical settings is generally employed to assess cognitive abilities by having a subject perform standard simple tests. In this study, a new method of measuring response time (RT) was developed using a system composed of ...

Pre-Landing Control for a Legged Robot Based on Tiptoe Proximity Sensor Feedback

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
The moment a legged robot touches the ground, the tip of its toe can experience a significant impact force. It is preferable to keep the landing impact force small because it causes imbalance and damage to the frame, motors, gears, and other components ...
