, 2002 The vowel system of the Pašušvis dialect of the west Aukštaitian šiauliškiai sub-dialect consists of 14 phonemes. The long vowels are /i• ie ė• a• o• uo u•/, the short ones – /a /, closed and open vowels are /i u/. The only relevant position of the closed phonemes /i/, /u/ is the final syllable.
