Experimental airborne transmission of PRRS virus
Veterinary Microbiology, 2004A series of three experiments, differing primarily in airflow volume, were performed to evaluate the likelihood of airborne transmission of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV) from infected to non-infected pigs. Pigs were housed in two units (unit A and unit B) located 1m apart and connected by pipes.

Development of International PRR and the Emergence of Sri Lankan National PRR
2019This chapter will continue to map the progression of international PRR consequent to the Rome Convention and TRIPS agreement and its diffusion at national level. In that regard, the chapter will discuss the way in which PRR was further expanded internationally through the WIPO’s WPPT and the Beijing Treaty and the way in which it was transplanted in ...

Vaccines aim at developing protective acquired immunity against pathogens. Optimal activation of acquired immunity involves activation of innate immune system, which is often achieved by chemical substances called adjuvant. Recently, molecules recognizing pathogen-associated molecular patterns called pattern recognition receptors(PRRs) have been ...

Recent research into the role of the nuclear receptor protein PRR-γ in controlling imflammatory responses to the gut microflora might provide a molecular target for a diagnostic tool distinguishing ulcerative colitis (UC) from Crohn's disease. PRR-γ is known to counteract inflammation by blocking the NF-κB-mediated activation of transcription of ...

Mapping CommonKADS Knowledge Models into PRR.
2011This paper aims at supporting the knowledge engineering process by proposing an approach to map CommonKADS knowledge models into specifications based on the Production Rule Representation (PRR) language. This approach starts by proposing a metamodel of CommonKADS knowledge models.
