Electrocardiographic and Skin Manifestations of Turner Syndrome: Association With Cardiovascular Disease

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Congenital heart disease (CHD) and dermatologic conditions such as lymphedema and acquired melanocytic nevi (AMN) are common in Turner Syndrome (TS). We hypothesized that abnormalities of cranial neural crest cell derivatives drive the skin and heart manifestations of TS. We conducted joint cardiac and skin examinations of volunteers at a 2023

Is prnt a pseudogene? Identification of ram Prt in testis and ejaculated spermatozoa.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
A hallmark of prion diseases or transmissible spongiform encephalopaties is the conversion of the cellular prion protein (PrP(C)), expressed by the prion gene (prnp), into an abnormally folded isoform (PrP(Sc)) with amyloid-like features that causes ...

Quantitative muscle architecture in large carnivorous marsupials (Marsupialia: Dasyuridae) and links to substrate use and prey processing

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The Dasyurid species Sarcophilus harrisii, Dasyurus maculatus, and Dasyurus viverrinus, occupying diverse ecological niches and forming a guild structure in Tasmania, provide a basis for examining the roles of various forelimb muscle groups in prey capture and locomotion.

Turbulent Prandtl number analysis of helium-xenon gas flow and heat transfer in the parallel channel

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Nuclear Reactor Design and Technology
The helium-xenon gas mixtures (15-40 g/mol) are used in various designs of small gas-cooled nuclear reactor systems with Prandtl number (Pr) from 0.2 to 0.3.

PRT simulation research

open access: yesArchives of Transport, 2013
The paper presents analyses results of PRT vehicle driveability in a ¼ scale conducted with the application of a simulation model for a straight line driving conditions and when driving on a curve. The results of the present work will be used in the analysis of a physical motion model in a laboratory stand reflecting a railway system of the stand.

Inhibition of ovine in vitro fertilization by anti-Prt antibody: hypothetical model for Prt/ZP interaction [PDF]

open access: yesReproductive Biology and Endocrinology, 2013
Abstract Background The impact of prion proteins in the rules that dictate biological reproduction is still poorly understood. Likewise, the role of prnt gene, encoding the prion-like protein testis specific (Prt), in ram reproductive physiology remains largely unknown.
