Structure Pruning Strategies for Min-Max Modular Network [PDF]
The min-max modular network has been shown to be an efficient classifier, especially in solving large-scale and complex pattern classification problems. Despite its high modularity and parallelism, it suffers from quadratic complexity in space when a multiple-class problem is decomposed into a number of linearly separable problems.

Drought Tip: Drought Strategies for California Prune Production [PDF]
Author(s): Fulton, Allan; Buchner, Richard | Abstract: As walnut production has become more profitable for growers, some new orchards are developed at more marginal locations. Additionally precision irrigation technology has allowed planting at locations previously thought to be unsuitable for walnut production.

Early Radiation Therapy Response Assessment Using Multi‐Scale Photoacoustic Imaging
Tomographic and mesoscopic photoacoustics capture intratumoural features of radioresistance and response. ABSTRACT There is a critical unmet clinical need to identify biomarkers that predict and detect radiation therapy (RT) response in cancer. Using the unique capabilities of multi‐scale photoacoustic imaging (PAI) to depict tumor oxygenation and ...

Visual SLAM Based on Improved Line Filtering Decision and Weight Optimization
In recent years, visual SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) based on line feature tracking has garnered widespread attention due to its provision of additional constraints for structured scenes. However, the current mainstream framework, PL-VINS,

Coffee berry borer triple-action integrated pest management [PDF]
In coffee plantations, some of the coffee berry borer (#Hypothenemus hampei Ferrari#) females emerging from residual fruits survive by taking refuge in dry fruits remaining on the branches.

Using single‐cell RNA sequencing of lung samples and flow cytometry of peripheral blood, we identified a novel T cell subset with high metallothionein (MT) expression. These MT‐high T cells suppress CD8+ T cell cytotoxicity and are progressively depleted from healthy controls to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients, positioning them as

This study reveals the genetic and molecular mechanisms controlling grain size homeostasis through fine‐tuning OsGRX8 self‐expression by two natural negative feedback loops functioning in redox‐dependent or ‐independent manners and identifies two self‐regulatory haplotypes (SRHs) for the subspecies differentiation in rice.

Chronic periodontitis elevates circulating CRP, which enters the hippocampus to upregulate BMP4 in oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs), thereby impairing neurogenesis and inducing anxiety/depression‐like behaviors in rats. Counteracting this pathway, CRP deficiency helps confer functional resilience to OPCs.
