Evaluating novel attachment methods for tracking devices on terrestrial mammals
We deployed GNSS tracking devices on 2 endangered large terrestrial mammals, scimitar‐horned oryx and Przewalski's horses, using novel attachment methods. Tags achieved fix success rates and spatial accuracy that compare well with standard collars used on large mammals.

Przewalski's horse — putting the wild horse back in the wild [PDF]
Efforts are under way to re-establish free-living populations of Przewalski's horse Equus przewalskii from zoo-bred individuals. The time is opportune to begin such initiatives as there are more than 660 individuals dispersed in over 70 zoological collections.

A high density SNP array for the domestic horse and extant Perissodactyla: utility for association mapping, genetic diversity, and phylogeny studies. [PDF]
An equine SNP genotyping array was developed and evaluated on a panel of samples representing 14 domestic horse breeds and 18 evolutionarily related species. More than 54,000 polymorphic SNPs provided an average inter-SNP spacing of ∼43 kb.

Abstract Kazakhstan is recognized as a key stronghold for the grey wolf (Canis lupus). Nonetheless, the wolf status and the dynamics of human‐wolf coexistence in the region remain poorly understood. This study aims to fill that gap by exploring current attitudes towards wolves in Kazakhstan and identify the underlying drivers of these attitudes.
