Synthesis of Amides from Amines and Esters Under Hydrothermal Conditions. [PDF]

open access: yesChemistryOpen
In this study, we explore the amide synthesis under hydrothermal conditions, using amines and esters as the starting materials. Proposed major pathway starts with ester hydrolysis, followed by condensation between carboxylic acids and amines. The amide yield is dependent on the substrate structure, solution pH, and the presence of dissolved metal salts.

Post-translational regulation of human D-3-phosphoglycerate dehydrogenase in Alzheimer's disease. [PDF]

open access: yesProtein Sci
Abstract Emerging evidence suggests that sex‐specific differences in L‐serine (L‐Ser) metabolism play a key role in Alzheimer's disease (AD). While disruptions in amino acid balance are well known, recent findings point to a dimorphic regulation of the serine biosynthetic pathway.

A 220-GHz Power Amplifier With 22.5-dB Gain and 9-dBm Psat in 130-nm SiGe

open access: yesIEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2021
A 220-GHz power amplifier (PA) with high gain, high output power, and high efficiency for a 220-GHz transceiver system is presented in this letter. At terahertz (THz) and sub-terahertz (sub-THz) bands, the maximum available gain/maximum stable gain (MAG ...

Adaptation and Validation of the Program Sustainability Assessment Tool (PSAT) for Use in the Elementary School Setting

open access: yesInternational Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, 2021
There is a lack of valid and reliable measures of determinants of sustainability specific to public health interventions in the elementary school setting. This study aimed to adapt and evaluate the Program Sustainability Assessment Tool (PSAT) for use in

Contact angle influence on the pull-in voltage of microswitches in the presence of capillary and quantum vacuum effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Capillary condensation between the electrodes of microswitches influences the effective pull-in voltage in a manner that depends on the contact angle of the capillary meniscus and the presence of plate surface roughness.

Multiplicities and Transverse Energies in Central AA Collisions at RHIC and LHC from pQCD, Saturation and Hydrodynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We compute the particle multiplicities and transverse energies at central and nearly central AA collisions at RHIC and LHC. The initial state is computed from perturbative QCD supplemented by the conjecture of saturation of produced partons.
