Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) predisposes individuals to cholangiocarcinoma; however, the molecular mechanisms involved in the carcinogenesis process remain unclear. Because p16(INK4a) inactivation has been implicated in cholangiocarcinoma, our aims were to examine PSC cholangiocytes for p16(INK4a) gene mutations. We studied 4 patient groups: PSC

Power scanning calorimetry (PSC)
Thermochimica Acta, 1984The heat of reaction and the rate of heat production in a reaction mixture as a function of temperature are important quantities for the design of reactors in chemical industry. Presently, several methods for the determination of these quantities are available, such as Differential Scanning Calorimetry, Differential Thermal Analysis, Bench Scale ...

Liver transplantation is widely accepted as the definitive treatment for patients with end-stage liver disease secondary to cirrhosis. Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a chronic immune-mediated inflammatory disease of the intrahepatic and extrahepatic bile ducts which leads to cholestasis, fibrotic strictures, and duct obliteration.

On the kinematic age of RZ Psc
Astronomy Letters, 2013RZ Psc belongs to the family of young UX Ori stars whose photometric activity is due to strong extinction variations in the circumstellar disks surrounding them. However, in contrast to all the remaining stars of this type, no evidence of youth has been detected for RZ Psc until recently.

Modeling and analysis for the coexistence of PSC I and PSC II in the IEEE 802.16e system
21st Annual IEEE International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2010In wireless communication system, power saving mechanism is a key issue since a mobile station operates depending on limited power. Hence, the IEEE 802.16e system provides three types of power saving classes (PSC I, PSC II and PSC III) for the mobile station (MS) to reduce power consumption.

Activated pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs) are responsible for the fibrotic matrix of chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. In vitro protocols examining PSC biology have usually involved PSCs cultured on plastic, a nonphysiological surface. However,

A communication-based method for PSC Detection and GMP tracking under PSC
IEEE Transactions on Industrial InformaticsThis study proposes a novel communication-based method for tracking global maximum power point (GMP) under partial shading condition (PSC) for a rooftop photovoltaic (PV) systems. The proposed method uses communication between converters to detect the occurrence of PSC and finds the GMP.

Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC)
2013Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a chronic progressive cholestatic liver disease of unknown etiology. It is characterized by diffuse inflammation and fibrosis of bile ducts leading to strictures primarily in large- and medium-sized ducts of the biliary tree (fibro-obliterative cholangiopathy) [1, 2].
