Theory of chronocoulometry of a pseudo first-order catalytic process at a rough electrode

open access: yes, 2017
Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi, Delhi-110 007, India E-mail : rkant@chemistry.du.ac.in Manuscript received 25 October 2017, accepted 01 November 2017 A theoretical model for single potential step charge-transients has been developed for the pseudo first-order catalytic coupled (EC’) reaction mechanism at rough electrode-electrolyte ...

A Mechanistic Study of Bio‐Based Nanotemplated Carbon Nanofibers Derived From Water Processable Lignin Blends for Sustainable Energy Storage Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
As‐spun carbon materials produced from Lignosulfonate, gelatin, and alginate, selected for water solubility, and ability to produce templated sustainable carbon nanostructures. Gelatin and alginate are sacrificial during thermal processing, allowing the production of engineered high surface area nanostructures, which are further characterized for ...

Pseudo-First-Order Phase Transition in One Dimension

open access: yesPseudo-First-Order Phase Transition in One Dimension
A study is made of the one-dimensional Landau-Ginzburg system with Ψ^6 term, a model of the first-order phase transition. Fluctuations are taken into account by means of the WKB method. It is pointed out that the first-order phase transition is smeared by the formation of soliton or domain walls between two coexisting phases.

Surface Passivation of HgTe Nanocrystals Enabling EG/2 Open‐Circuit Voltage and Their Coupling to Dielectric Cavity for Narrow Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This article explores how the integration of a thin shell, combined with optimized surface chemistry, enables the design of photodiodes based on short‐wave infrared HgTe nanocrystals. These photodiodes achieve an open‐circuit voltage greater than half the optical bandgap, which drastically reduces dark current. The article also explores the integration

Decoding THz‐Driven Dynamic Fingerprints of Ferroelectric Nanotwin Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Ultrafast polarization dynamics in ferroelectrics are of considerable interest for high‐speed tunable dielectrics and electro‐optics. Extended domain wall networks formed in ferroelectric twin nanodomains can support collective dynamics in the terahertz regime but require techniques that track polarization and strain evolution driven by ...

Nested Pseudo-likelihood Estimation and Bootstrap-based Inference for Structural Discrete Markov Decision Models [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper analyzes the higher-order properties of nested pseudo-likelihood (NPL) estimators and their practical implementation for parametric discrete Markov decision models in which the probability distribution is defined as a fixed point. We propose a

Composition Restoration Enables Recycling of Mixed‐Cation, Mixed‐Halide Perovskites for Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Compositional drift during processing prevents the direct recycling of mixed‐cation, mixed‐halide perovskites. This work introduces a framework to quantitatively audit and restore recovered materials, enabling closed‐loop recycling with efficiencies comparable to virgin perovskites.

Metoprolol Tartrate Drug Loading and Release from Prepared Mesoporous Silica; Kinetic of Adsorption and Release

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences
Mesoporous silica was developed to transport metoprolol tartrate (MPT). The data obtained from the kinetic experiments of adsorption of 15 ppm of MPT drug at 293 K was fitted in the pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order, and intraparticle diffusion ...

Using a Zero‐Strain Reference Electrode to Distinguish Anode and Cathode Volume Changes in a Solid‐State Battery

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Volume changes of a solid‐state battery cell are separated into the individual contributions of anode and cathode. Simultaneously determining the “reaction volumes” of both electrodes requires a reference electrode with a pressure‐independent potential.
