Critical of linear and nonlinear equations of pseudo-first order and pseudo-second order kinetic models

open access: yesKarbala International Journal of Modern Science, 2018
Abstract The experimental adsorption equilibrium of Cd(II) onto chitosan (Cd(II)/CS) and methyl orange onto bentonite (MO/Bt) were studied in batch adsorption experiments at room temperature for an initial concentration of 236.5 mg/L for Cd (II) (pH = 5) and 33 mg/L for MO (pH = 3).

Pseudo-first-order phase transition for ultrahigh positive/negative electrocaloric effects in perovskite ferroelectrics

open access: yesNano Energy, 2015
The electrocaloric effect of ferroelectric materials, which occurs significantly near the first-order paraelectric/ferroelectric transition (FOPFT) Curie temperature, has tremendous prospect in solid-state cooling devices. In the present work, thermodynamics analysis and phase field simulations were conducted to demonstrate the mechanical compression ...

PRACTICAL ASPECTS OF THE ANALYSIS OF THE PROGRESSION CURVES OF FIRST AND PSEUDO-FIRST ORDER REACTIONS [PDF]

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2020
The paper presents a simple method of determining iteratively the progression curve asymptote for first and pseudo-first order reactions. For selected student exercises, thus obtained results were compared (see Supplementary Material) with those found by

The use of agro-industrial residues of coffee ( Coffea arabica) for the removal of mercury from water [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Water and Land Development, 2023
Contamination of water bodies by heavy metals is a continuously growing environmental issue. High concentrations of mercury (Hg) in river waters are a recognized environmental problem, because it is one of the most toxic heavy metal ions as it causes ...

Effect of Reverse Micelles Size on the Electron Transfer Reaction within the Ion Pair of Co (III)/Fe (II) Complexes

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
The electron transfer process between pentammineaquacobalt (III) and hexacyanoferrate (II), [Co(NH3)5H2O]3+/Fe(CN)6]4− ion pair was investigated in water/dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate (AOT)/Isooctane reverse micelles. The study observed that the electron
