The role of higher education attainment and graduate college majors in shaping employment status in Ethiopia: evidence from pooled cross-sectional and pseudo-panel data

open access: yesCogent Economics & Finance
This study investigates the private and social employment returns to higher education in Ethiopia (1999–2021) using pooled labor force surveys. We employ both individual-level multinomial probit and cohort-level pseudo-panel models to disentangle private

Potential for Increasing Soil Nutrient Availability via Soil Organic Matter Improvement Using Pseudo Panel Data

open access: yesAgricultural Sciences, 2014
Fixed and random effect models were applied to a pseudo-panel data built of soil analysis reports from tobacco farms to analyze relationships between soil characteristics like soil organic matter (SOM) and soil nitrogen (N), phosphorous (P) and potassium (K) and to explore the potential for improving nutrients availability by increasing SOM ...

Engineering Pluripotent Stem Cells‐Derived Inner Ear Organoids With Enhanced Maturation and Reproducibility by Micro‐Topographical Cues

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Micro‐topographical cues applied through temporally controlled microscale confinement improve the reproducibility, spatial organization, and neurosensory‐associated features of pluripotent stem cell‐derived inner ear organoids. Integration with a vascularized organoid platform further enables controlled investigation of vascular‐epithelial interactions

Effects of Fuel Price Fluctuation on Individual CO2 Traffic Emissions: Empirical Findings from Pseudo Panel Data

open access: yesProcedia - Social and Behavioral Sciences, 2012
AbstractGlobalized concerns about greenhouse gasses and increased energy consumptions have stimulated research in transportation about the relationships between fuel prices and emissions. Many researchers have found that higher fuel price can reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions through a number of transmission mechanisms.

Fabrication of TiN/TiO2 Nanotube‐Based Heterostructure for Hydrogen Sensing Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A hydrogen sensor based on titanium dioxide nanotubes coated with titanium nitride has been developed. The coating process causes a mixed titanium oxynitride layer to form, which improves the sensor performance. Sensor response R depends on the TiN thickness and is not degraded after 7 days in air.

High‐Power Rapid Laser‐Induced Synthesis of Multi‐functional Cobalt Metal‐Organic Framework With an Unprecedented Synthesis Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Laser‐assisted synthesis enables rapid (within 1 h) and high‐yield (≥90%) production of Co‐MOFs with mesoporous structures, tunable magnetic and optical properties, and efficient adsorption of N2, CH4, and CO2 for low‐energy gas separation. DFT calculations elucidate the electronic structure and adsorption behavior.
