MONTE CARLO METHODS IN FUZZY NON-LINEAR REGRESSION

open access: yes
We apply our new fuzzy Monte Carlo method to certain fuzzy non-linear regression problems to estimate the best solution. The best solution is a vector of triangular fuzzy numbers, for the fuzzy coefficients in the model, which minimizes an error measure.

Optimizing External Quantum Efficiency in Scattering‐Enhanced QD Composites for Color Displays: A Rigorous Monte Carlo Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
We model light propagation and color conversion in quantum dot composites for color displays. We show how the introduction of scattering particles enhances the absorption of blue light and improves the outcoupling of light, increasing the external efficiency and providing better color stability by reducing reabsorption effects.

Sequential Monte Carlo with likelihood tempering and parallel implementation for uncertainty quantification

open access: yesAIChE Journal, Volume 72, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Bayesian estimation enables uncertainty quantification, but analytical implementation is often intractable. As an approximate approach, the Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method is widely used, though it entails a high computational cost due to frequent evaluations of the likelihood function.

Transforming Human–Manatee Relations: Socio‐Ecological Drivers of Conflict and Coexistence in Lake Ossa, Cameroon

open access: yesAquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems, Volume 36, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Aquatic ecosystems worldwide face increasing human–wildlife conflicts as fishing activities overlap with critical habitats for vulnerable species. Human–wildlife interactions in artisanal fisheries exemplify socio‐ecological systems that necessitate adaptive management approaches, integrating ecological and social dimensions.

A Multiple Imputation Approach to Distinguish Curative From Life‐Prolonging Effects in the Presence of Missing Covariates

open access: yesBiometrical Journal, Volume 68, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Medical advances have increased cancer survival rates and the possibility of finding a cure. Hence, it is crucial to evaluate the impact of treatments both in terms of cure and prolongation of survival. To achieve this, we may use a Cox proportional hazards cure model.

Atomic‐Level Insight of Carbon‐Based Anodes for Advanced Sodium Storage: Electrochemical Mechanisms and Molecular Simulation‐Assisted Modification

open access: yescMat, Volume 3, Issue 2, June 2026.
Hard carbon is a promising anode for sodium‐ion batteries, yet its Na+ storage mechanism remains elusive. This review summarizes Na+ storage behavior in hard carbon from first‐principles (DFT) calculations, establishes structure–function relationships, summarizes DFT‐based evaluation methods, and provides perspectives for the rational theoretical ...
