Critical of linear and nonlinear equations of pseudo-first order and pseudo-second order kinetic models

open access: yesKarbala International Journal of Modern Science, 2018
Abstract The experimental adsorption equilibrium of Cd(II) onto chitosan (Cd(II)/CS) and methyl orange onto bentonite (MO/Bt) were studied in batch adsorption experiments at room temperature for an initial concentration of 236.5 mg/L for Cd (II) (pH = 5) and 33 mg/L for MO (pH = 3).

On the comparison of pseudo-first order and pseudo-second order rate laws in the modeling of adsorption kinetics [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Engineering Journal, 2016
In most works in the current literature about liquid/solid adsorption kinetics, the respective abilities of pseudo-first order and pseudo-second kinetics for describing the data are compared. In nearly all cases, it is concluded that the latter surpasses the former.

Modeling of sorption kinetics: the pseudo-second order equation and the sorbate intraparticle diffusivity [PDF]

open access: yesAdsorption, 2013
The applicability of the pseudo-second order equation (PSOE) has been explained on the ground of the model assuming that the overall sorption rate is limited by the rate of sorbate diffusion in the pores of sorbent (intraparticle diffusion model). Mathematical expressions have been proposed in order to describe the dependence of the pseudo-second order

The Heavy Quark Form Factors at Two Loops [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We compute the two-loop QCD corrections to the heavy quark form factors in case of the vector, axial-vector, scalar and pseudo-scalar currents up to second order in the dimensional parameter $\epsilon = (4-D)/2$.

Adsorption of Bromothymol Blue (BTB) Dye Using Four Zeolites as Adsorbent [PDF]

open access: yesKemija u Industriji, 2021
This study examined adsorption of anionic dye on four zeolitic materials incorporated (VS-1, CuZSM-5) and not incorporated into metals (S-1, ZSM-5).

Spectral methods for the wave equation in second-order form [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Current spectral simulations of Einstein's equations require writing the equations in first-order form, potentially introducing instabilities and inefficiencies. We present a new penalty method for pseudo-spectral evolutions of second order in space wave

Kinetic model for the sorption of copper ions onto sugar beet shreds [PDF]

open access: yesHemijska Industrija, 2014
Adsorption kinetics is of great significance to evaluate the performance of adsorption process. The kinetics of copper ions adsorption onto different sized sugar beet shreds has been considered.

A Revised Pseudo-Second-Order Kinetic Model for Adsorption, Sensitive to Changes in Adsorbate and Adsorbent Concentrations

open access: yesLangmuir, 2021
The development of new adsorbent materials for the removal of toxic contaminants from drinking water is crucial toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 (clean water and sanitation). The characterization of these materials includes fitting models of adsorption kinetics to experimental data, most commonly the pseudo-second ...

Kinetics of scandium recovery by TVEX-TBP from the solution formed after the salt chlorinator cake leaching [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
Kinetics of scandium recovery by TVEX containing tributyl phosphate was studied from the clarified leaching solution of salt chlorinator cake. To assess the contribution of each diffusion phase, experimental data were analyzed using a graphic method.
