Degradation and adsorption of AZO RR239 dye in aqueous solution by nanoscale zerovalent iron particles immobilized on sawdust

open access: yesRevista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia, 2013
Carra sawdust pretrated with formaldehyde was used to adsorb RR239 (reactive azo dye) at varying pH and zerovalent iron (ZVI) dosage. Modeling of kinetic results shows that sorption process is best described by the pseudo-second-order model.

Pseudo-second-order model for lead ion sorption from aqueous solutions onto palm kernel fiber

open access: yes, 2009
[[abstract]]The sorption of lead ion onto palm kernel fiber was studied by performing batch kinetic sorption experiments. The batch sorption model, based on a pseudo-second-order mechanism, was applied to predict the rate constant of sorption, the ...

Review of second-order models for adsorption systems

open access: yes, 2009
[[abstract]]Applications of second-order kinetic models to adsorption systems were reviewed. An overview of second-order kinetic expressions is described in this paper based on the solid adsorption capacity.

Highly efficient and rapid removal of Congo red dye from textile wastewater using facile synthesized Mg/Ni/Al layered double hydroxide

open access: yesScientific Reports
Layered double hydroxides (LDH) are compounds with unique structures of hydroxide functional groups on their surfaces, and they have the proper arrangement of divalent and trivalent cations to adjust their unique catalytic actions.

Homotopy Analysis Transform Method for a Singular Nonlinear Second-Order Hyperbolic Pseudo-Differential Equation

open access: yesAxioms
In this study, we employed the homotopy analysis transform method (HATM) to derive an iterative scheme to numerically solve a singular second-order hyperbolic pseudo-differential equation.

On the use of linearized pseudo-second-order kinetic equations for modeling adsorption systems

open access: yes, 2012
[[abstract]]"Simulated pseudo-second-order kinetic adsorption data were analyzed by different methods of least-squares regression. The methods used were non-linear regression and four linearized forms of the pseudo-secondorder equation.
