Determinants of Body Mass Index in Early Systemic Sclerosis: Implications for Nutritional Risk Stratification

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Gastrointestinal (GI) involvement can lead to malnutrition in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc). Body mass index (BMI) remains the most widely used marker to screen nutritional status. We aimed to identify predictors of lower BMI in patients with SSc. Methods Patients with SSc from a prospective US cohort meeting 2013 American College of

Pseudo almost periodic solutions for a Lasota-Ważewska model

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2016
By using the theory of pseudo almost periodic functions and Banach's fixed point theorem, sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence, uniqueness and stability of pseudo almost periodic solutions.

Air‐Pressure–Actuated Vibroacoustic Metamaterial With Tunable Bandgap: Design, Modeling, and Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the design, modeling, and characterization of air‐pressure–actuated programmable vibroacoustic metamaterials (PVAMM). The study focuses on leveraging air pressure to dynamically tune resonance frequencies for effective noise attenuation.

Comparison of Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Energy Absorbers Under Uniaxial Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates LCD 3D printed Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) structures as mechanical energy absorbers. By comparing various base designs and layered combinations under uniaxial compression, it identifies that a Diamond‐Gyroid sandwich structure offers superior performance.

Existence of Pseudo Almost Periodic Solutions of Linear Volterra Integrodifferential Equations

open access: yesAnnals of the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University - Mathematics, 2011
The paper is concerned with the linear equation \[ x'(t)=A(t)x(t)+{\int}_{-\infty}^t F(t,s) x(s)\, ds+p(t),\quad t\in\mathbb R. \] In order to obtain existenceof solutions for this equation, the authors give some characterizations for the exponential asymptotic stability of the zero solution of the homogeneous equation (i.e., the equation corresponding

Integration of vector-valued pseudo-almost periodic functions

open access: yes, 1994
A necessary and sufficient condition is given to show that the indefinite integral of a vector-valued pseudo-almost periodic function is again pseudo-almost periodic. Then we use this result to answer a question about weakly almost periodic functions.

High‐Entropy Alloy Interlayers Toward Advanced Joining for High‐Performance Structural Applications: Current Progress and Emerging Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
HEA interlayers offer a versatile route for joining high‐performance structural materials. Their compositional and structural design regulates interfacial reactions, suppresses brittle IMCs, and improves metallurgical bonding. Sandwich interlayers further integrate defect healing with precipitation strengthening, enabling improved strength–ductility ...

Self‐Assembled Crystalline Peptoid Nanomaterials as Metal‐Free Enzyme Mimics for Enhanced Carbon Dioxide Hydration and Precipitation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by metal‐free carbonic anhydrases (CAs) that achieve efficient catalysis without metal cofactors, we herein report a sequence‐defined supramolecular peptoid platform that mimics metal‐free CAs and exhibits hydrolytic activity via a supramolecular assembly‐mediated proton‐transfer mechanism.

Nitride MXenes Beyond Carbides: Bridging the Gap Between Computational Prediction and Experimental Realization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Nitride MXenes remain constrained by a persistent gap between computational prediction and experimental realization. This Review identifies the thermodynamic, kinetic, and chemical barriers limiting their synthesis, critically evaluates emerging fabrication routes, and proposes a multidimensional computational‐experimental framework to accelerate the ...

Reversible Calcium Alloying on Bulk and Indium (Sub)‐Micro Negative Electrodes for Calcium‐Based Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Description: Indium metal serves as a reversible calcium‐alloying negative electrode. By transitioning from planar electrodes to powders and (sub‐)micron indium particles, the specific surface area is increased, improving the areal capacity density and cycling stability for calcium‐based batteries.
