From pseudo-random walk to pseudo-Brownian motion: first exit time from a one-sided or a two-sided interval

open access: yes, 2013
Let $N$ be a positive integer, $c$ be a positive constant and $(U_n)_{n\ge 1}$ be a sequence of independent identically distributed pseudo-random variables. We assume that the $U_n$'s take their values in the discrete set $\{-N,-N+1,...,N-1,N\}$ and that

Pseudo-scalar Higgs Boson Production at Threshold N$^3$LO and N$^3$LL QCD

open access: yes, 2015
We present the first results on the production of pseudo-scalar through gluon fusion at the LHC to N$^3$LO in QCD taking into account only soft gluon effects.

Imaginary Chemical Potential Approach for the Pseudo-Critical Line in the QCD Phase Diagram with Clover-Improved Wilson Fermions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The QCD phase diagram is studied in the lattice QCD simulation with the imaginary chemical potential approach. We employ a clover-improved Wilson fermion action of two-flavors and a renormalization-group improved gauge action, and perform the simulation ...

Trade-Off between Degradation Efficiency and Recyclability: Zeolite-Enhanced Ni3−xCoxS4 Catalyst for Photocatalytic Degradation of Methylene Blue

open access: yesMolecules
We herein report successful syntheses of both nickel cobalt sulfide (NCS) and its composite with zeolite (NCS@Z) using a solvothermal method. Techniques such as EDX analysis, SEM, and molar ratio determination were used for product characterization.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Kinetics of reaction of 5,5′-dithiobis(2-nitrobenzenzoate) with CysF9[93]β sulphydryl group of sheep haemoglobins at neutral and physiological pH ranges

open access: yesJournal of Saudi Chemical Society, 2016
The kinetics of the reaction of 5,5′-dithiobis(2-nitrobenzoate) (DTNB) with CysF9[93]β sulphydryl group of the sheep haemoglobins were studied at neutral and physiological pH (6.8 ⩽ pH ⩽ 7.6) ranges under pseudo first order conditions.

Kinetics of scandium recovery by TVEX-TBP from the solution formed after the salt chlorinator cake leaching [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
Kinetics of scandium recovery by TVEX containing tributyl phosphate was studied from the clarified leaching solution of salt chlorinator cake. To assess the contribution of each diffusion phase, experimental data were analyzed using a graphic method.

First-order electroweak phase transition in a complex singlet model with ℤ3 symmetry [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We consider an extension of the Standard Model with a complex singlet scalar, where a global U(1) symmetry is explicitly broken to ℤ3 symmetry. We study the two-step electroweak phase transition in the model and find that it can be of first-order if the ...

Dynamic Approach to Weak First Order Phase Transitions

open access: yes, 2000
A short-time dynamic approach to weak first order phase transitions is proposed. Taking the 2-dimensional Potts models as examples, from short-time behaviour of non-equilibrium relaxational processes starting from high temperature and zero temperature ...

The Impact of Tilburg Frailty on Poststroke Fatigue in First‐Ever Stroke Patients: A Cross‐Sectional Study With Unified Measurement Tools and Improved Statistics

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Poststroke fatigue (PSF) and frailty share substantial overlap in their manifestations, yet previous research has yielded conflicting results due to the use of heterogeneous frailty assessment tools. Objective To evaluate the independent impact of frailty on PSF using a unified measurement system (Tilburg Frailty Indicator, TFI ...
