Thermodynamics of pseudoelasticity ?an analytical approach
Acta Mechanica, 1993The phenomenon of pseudo-elasticity is connected with a phase transition. Its description requires a non-convex free energy and a non-monotone load-deformation curve. Realistic functions like that are too complicated to permit the analytic calculation of phase equilibria and the evaluation of, stability properties of a phase mixture.

The Interior of the Pseudoelastic Hysteresis
MRS Proceedings, 1991AbstractAn interesting problem within the research on shape memory is provided by the investigation of the pseudo-elastic hysteresis loop that accompanies the strain-induced austenitic-martensitic phase transition. Miller [1] suggested by thermodynamic arguments that the size of that loop should be related to the coherency energy at interfaces between ...

The pseudoelasticity of a Ni45Ti50Cu5 alloy
2000Since several years the Ni(50-X)Ti50CuX alloys are attentively considered for the interesting features related to the B2-->B19' transformation involved in the pseudoelastic behavior. In contrast with the binary NiTi, where two martensitic transformations, B2-->R-phase and R-phase-->B19' can overlap, in the ternary alloy a single transformation is ...
