Cataract in pseudohypoparathyroidism
A 22-year-old white man presented with photopsia of 3-year duration despite a corrected distance visual acuity of 20/20 in both eyes. Ophthalmic examination revealed multiple irregularly shaped white cortical opacifications of the lens in both eyes but no other significant ocular findings.

Pseudohypoparathyroidism includes a genotypically diverse group of syndromes of primary resistance to hormones whose actions are mediated by cyclic adenosine 3':5'-monophosphate. In most cases, clinical presentation results from resistance to actions of parathyroid hormone, while resistance to other hormones remains subclinical. The largest subgroup of

Neonatal pseudohypoparathyroidism
The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2006The case of a neonate is presented who had early onset seizure associated with hypocalcemia, hyperphosphatemia, and raised parathyroid hormone. The infant did not have any stigmata of pseudohypoparathyroidism. The hypocalcemia was initially resistant to calcium therapy, but responded to vitamin D analog therapy.

Hypoparathyroidism and pseudohypoparathyroidism
Pediatrics International, 1997AbstractHypoparathyroidism is a clinical disorder characterized by hypocalcemia and hyperphosphatemia in the absence of renal failure and hypomagnesemia. The causes of hypoparathyroidism can be classified as two groups: (i) insufficient parathyroid hormone (PTH) secretion in relation to the serum calcium level (hypoparathyroidism); and (ii) impaired ...
