Meson exchange model for pseudoscalar meson-meson scattering [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics A, 1990
A dynamical model for pseudoscalar-pseudoscalar meson scattering based on meson exchange, suitable for use in a variety of low- and intermediate-energy mesonic interactions, has been constructed and applied to ππ and kπ scattering with good quantitative results.

Pseudoscalar meson-meson scattering

Nuclear Physics A, 1986
Abstract It is shown that an unmodified constituent model is not able to give agreement both with scattering lengths, either from PCAC or experiment, and with the experimental value of fπ. Therefore we propose a modified model. Assuming that only a fraction cM of a meson is well represented by the constituent model leads to a model which describes ...

Nonlinear Pseudoscalar Meson Theory

Physical Review, 1952
An attempt is made to explain nuclear saturation by means of a nonlinear pseudoscalar meson field. The same nonlinearity as that introduced by Schiff for the scalar case is employed; the treatment follows similar lines, using classical field theory. The total source strength is calculated for an isolated nucleon at rest, and an expression for the two ...

Pseudoscalar Mesons with Applications to Meson-Nucleon Scattering and Photoproduction

Physical Review, 1952
The scattering of ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$ and ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ mesons by protons and the production of ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$ mesons by gamma-rays incident on protons are studied with the quantized theory of pseudoscalar mesons with pseudoscalar coupling.

Duality and the pseudoscalar mesons

Il Nuovo Cimento A, 1976
The Lovelace-Veneziano model for the pseudoscalar-meson process PP → PP is considered with particular attention to the problematical requirement of ideal mixing for the pseudoscalar nonet. A solution to the problem which retains the narrow-resonance approximation for this process is found.

The Pseudoscalar Meson Field with Strong Coupling

Physical Review, 1942
The present paper treats the symmetrical and charged pseudoscalar theories of the meson field, using the strong coupling approximation; it restricts itself to the case of a single source. The energy levels of the excited states of the heavy particle and the scattering cross section for free mesons are computed by wave mechanical methods.
