First records of pseudoscorpions (Arachnida) associated with two species of the genus Chalcolepidius Eschscholtz, 1829 (Coleoptera, Elateridae) in Mexico [PDF]

open access: yesCheck List
We report new biological associations between pseudoscorpions (Arachnida) and click beetles of the genus Chalcolepidius Eschscholtz, 1829 (Coleoptera, Elateridae) in the states of Hidalgo and Tabasco, Mexico. These associations confirm that a correlation

Do different camera trap lures result in different detection rates of vertebrates because of their attractiveness to invertebrates?

open access: yesEcological Management &Restoration, Volume 25, Issue 2, Page 103-109, May 2024.
Summary The type of attractant used in camera trap lures is recognised as an important methodological decision. We investigated whether the type of attractant in lures indirectly influences detectability of wildlife on cameras via differential attraction of invertebrates which themselves constitute prey of insectivorous animals. We indexed invertebrate

Species delimitation with limited sampling: An example from rare trapdoor spider genus Cyclocosmia (Mygalomorphae, Halonoproctidae)

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, Volume 24, Issue 3, April 2024.
Abstract The outcome of species delimitation depends on many factors, including conceptual framework, study design, data availability, methodology employed and subjective decision making. Obtaining sufficient taxon sampling in endangered or rare taxa might be difficult, particularly when non‐lethal tissue collection cannot be utilized.

A new cave Pseudoscorpion from Serbia (Pseudoscorpiones, Chthoniidae)

open access: yesArchives of Biological Sciences, 2011
A new pseudoscorpion from the family Chthoniidae - Chthonius (Chthonius) aquasanctae n. sp. from west Serbia is described. The newly erected taxon is endemic to the area studied. Its taxonomic relationship to its phenetically close congeners Chthonius (Chthonius) lesnik Curcic and Chthonius (Chthonius) iugoslavicus Curcic, as well as the ...

New species of pseudoscorpions (Arachnida: Pseudoscorpiones) for the fauna of Bulgaria

open access: yes, 2007
The fauna of the false scorpions in Bulgaria is still poorly studied. We report the occurrence of eight new species of pseudoscorpions -- Chthonius orthodactylus, Neobisium blothroides, N. cf. labinskyi, N. moreoticum, N. peloponnesiacum, Dinocheirus panzeri, Mundochthonius styriacus and Larca lata. The latter three species are members of three genera,

A check list of the pseudoscorpions of South Africa (Arachnida: Pseudoscorpiones)

open access: yesKoedoe, 2000
A check list of the Pseudoscorpiones of the class Arachnida of South Africa is presented. A total of 135 species and 10 subspecies of pseudoscorpions are known from South Africa, represented by seven superfamilies, 15 families and 65 genera. This represents about 4.4 of the world fauna.
