Cerebral hemodynamics and metabolism in pseudotumor cerebri

Annals of Neurology, 1978
AbstractA comprehensive analysis of cerebral hemodynamics and metabolism was carried out in 14 patients with pseudotumor cerebri. Tracer techniques were employed to measure cerebral blood flow (CBF) and vascular reactivity to acute changes in arterial carbon dioxide tension and blood pressure, cerebral blood volume (CBV), and the cerebral metabolic ...

Pseudotumor Syndrome Resulting from a Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformation

Neurosurgery, 1995
We report a case of a cerebral arteriovenous malformation presenting as a pseudotumor cerebri syndrome. The lack of mass effect, hemorrhage, or hydrocephalus, in addition to angiographic evidence of high-flow and venous outflow restriction, implicate increased cerebral blood flow and venous hypertension as the mechanism for the papilledema.

Cerebral venous sinus system and stenting in pseudotumor cerebri

Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 2011
The pathogenesis and treatment paradigm for idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is controversial. The goal of this article is to review the current literature addressing a relatively new and controversial therapeutic approach for a subset of IIH patients: dural venous sinus stenting. The debate continues as to whether transverse sinus stenosis is

[Cerebral actinomycosis pseudotumor: a case report].

Revue neurologique, 2011
Cerebral actinomycosis is rare and difficult to diagnose. We report a case of a 45-year-old man hospitalized for seizures associated with fever and left hemiparesis. The white cell count and C-reactive protein were elevated. HIV serology was negative. Blood cultures remained sterile. The CT scan revealed hyperdense nodular lesions in the occipital area,
