PSHA software review based on the Monte Carlo method
Informatization and communication, 2020The article is a continuation of the software research to perform probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (PSHA) as one of the main stages in engineering seismic surveys. The article provides an overview of modern software for PSHA based on the Monte Carlo method, describes in detail the work of foreign programs OpenQuake Engine and EqHaz.

Viewing PSHA from a Binomial Distribution Angle
Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America, 2015Abstract This article applies the Bernoulli process (the binomial distribution) to probabilistic seismic‐hazard analysis (PSHA), and the results are identical with the Poisson process. To determine the parameter p required of the binomial distribution, the probabilities associated with the seismic hazard are divided into two categories.

VS,30 Determinations using MASW for PSHA in Portugal
Proceedings, 2012The Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Map of Portugal is being prepared under the project SCENE – “Site Condition Evaluation for National Seismic Hazard Estimation”. The project is developing a VS,30 database for Portugal, which started by gathering the geologic; geotechnical and geophysical data available in the literature.

A COMPREHENSIVE FOURIER-BASED PSHA OF MEXICO CITY
a critical component for any PSHA is the capability to predict ground motion intensities for future earthquakes with different characteristics. To achieve this, ground motion models have been the preferred approach to predict the size of the ground motion as a function of the rupture’s characteristics.Ordaz, M. +3 more

TOWARDS PHYSICS BASED PSHA FOR SOUTHWEST ICELAND
The earthquake hazard in Iceland is highest in its Southwest Iceland transform zone where strong earthquakes up magnitude 7 have been known to occur and cause damage. Recently, geological and seismological evidence has shown that the seismogenic potential is variable in the zone and that the unique system of bookshelf strike-slip faulting, which was ...openaire +1 more source
