Geometry of transcendental singularities of complex analytic functions and vector fields

open access: yesComplex Manifolds
On Riemann surfaces MM, there exists a canonical correspondence between a possibly multivalued function ΨX{\Psi }_{X} whose differential is single-valued (i.e. an additively automorphic singular complex analytic function) and a vector field XX.

Achieving High ON State Current through Ferroelectric Polarization‐Dependent Interfacial Resistance Switching in Undoped Orthorhombic HfO2 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric tunnel junction devices based on epitaxial undoped ferroelectric HfO2 films demonstrate stable switching endurance of over 106 switching cycles, low write voltages of ±3 V, 16 measured resistance states, and neuromorphic capability.

Inequalities for the Psi and k-Gamma functions

open access: yesGlobal Journal of Mathematical Analysis, 2014
In this paper, the authors establish some inequalities involving the Psi and $k$-Gamma functions. The procedure utilizes some monotonicity properties of some functions associated with the Psi and $k$-Gamma functions.

Engineering Hydrogen‐Down Water Configurations for Ampere‐Level Electrochemical CO2 Reduction to Formate

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrochemical CO2 reduction (ECR) to formate is a promising route for sustainable chemical production. Herein, we report the synthesis catalysed byBi‐HfO2@C. The AIMD simulations, DFT calculations, and in situ SEIRAS measurements show that the modification of HfO2 on the Bi surface steers the interfacial water to adopt a favorable hydrogen‐down (OH2↓)

Complexity of Deterministic and Strongly Nondeterministic Decision Trees for Decision Tables From Closed Classes

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper investigates classes of decision tables (DTs) with 0-1-decisions that are closed under the removal of attributes (columns) and changes to the assigned decisions to rows.

Gamma,Psi,Bernoulli Functions via Hurwitz Zeta Function

open access: yes, 2010
Using three basic facts concerning Hurwitz zeta function,we give new natural proofs of the known results on Bernoulli polynomials, gamma function and also obtain Gauss' expression for Psi function at a rational point, all in a unified fashion. We also give a new proof of the relation between log gamma and derivative of the Hurwitz zeta function, including ...

Suppression of inclusive J/$\mathbf{\psi}$ and $\mathbf{\psi}$(2S) production in p-Pb collisions with ALICE at the LHC

open access: yes, 2014
The ALICE Collaboration has studied inclusive J/$\psi$ and $\psi$(2S) production in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV with the Muon Spectrometer. The measurement was performed at forward (2.03 $

Microfluidic Modeling of Macrophage‐Induced Cardiac Inflammation Using NF‐κB Reporter Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A cardiac inflammation model was developed to enable real‐time analysis of macrophage‐cardiomyocyte interactions using NF‐κB‐reporter cardiomyocytes and a microfluidic co‐culture system. A MATLAB‐based model was implemented to optimize cell density and medium resupply based on TNFα diffusion kinetics. Activation thresholds and stress responses in NF‐κB‐

Bounds and Completely Monotonicity of Some Functions Involving the Functions ψ′(l) and ψ″(l)

open access: yesSymmetry; Volume 14; Issue 7; Pages: 1420, 2022
Symmetrical patterns exist in the nature of inequalities, which play a basic role in theoretical and applied mathematics. In several studies, inequalities present accurate approximations of functions based on their symmetry properties. In the paper, we prove the completely monotonic (CM) property of some functions involving the function Δ(l)=ψ

A submultiplicative property of the psi function

open access: yesJournal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 1999
The main result offered by the authors is that \(\Gamma'(xy+t)\Gamma(x+t)\Gamma(y+t) \leq \Gamma(xy+t)\Gamma'(x+t)\Gamma'(y+t)\) for all nonnegative \(x\) and \(y\) iff \(t\geq a\) where \(\Gamma\) is Euler's gamma function and \(a\) is the only positive number with \(\Gamma'(a)=\Gamma(a).\) They offer also a similar result with subadditivity in place ...
