Evaluation of function predictions by PFP, ESG, and PSI-BLAST for moonlighting proteins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Background Advancements in function prediction algorithms are enabling large scale computational annotation for newly sequenced genomes. With the increase in the number of functionally well characterized proteins it has been observed that there are many ...

On $\Psi$-bounded solutions for non-homogeneous matrix Lyapunov systems on $\mathbb{R}$

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2009
In this paper we provide necesssary and sufficient conditions for the existence of at least one $\Psi$-bounded solution on $\mathbb{R}$ for the system $X'=A(t)X +XB(t)+F(t)$, where $F(t)$ is a Lebesgue $\Psi$-integrable matrix valued function on ...

Labeled PSI from Fully Homomorphic Encryption with Malicious Security

open access: yesIACR Cryptology ePrint Archive, 2018
Private Set Intersection (PSI) allows two parties, the sender and the receiver, to compute the intersection of their private sets without revealing extra information to each other. We are interested in the unbalanced PSI setting, where (1) the receiver's

Enhanced Tantalum Superconducting Resonator Performance via All‐Surface Organic Monolayer Passivation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The internal quality factor of tantalum superconducting resonators is significantly increased by ∼140% in the low photon regime by passivating their surfaces with a high‐quality alkene self‐assembled monolayer. Our methodology promises to enhance the performance of superconducting quantum circuits.

Identification of a candidate Rad1 subunit for the kinetoplastid 9-1-1 (Rad9-Hus1-Rad1) complex [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Date of Acceptance: 12/12/2014The trimeric 9-1-1 (Rad9-Hus1-Rad1) complex plays an important role in the eukaryotic DNA damage response by recruiting DNA repair factors and checkpoint mediators to damaged sites.

Inequalities for the Psi and k-Gamma functions

open access: yesGlobal Journal of Mathematical Analysis, 2014
In this paper, the authors establish some inequalities involving the Psi and $k$-Gamma functions. The procedure utilizes some monotonicity properties of some functions associated with the Psi and $k$-Gamma functions.

Impact of Disorder on Microscopic Superconducting and Normal‐State Responses in a Kagome Metal

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Using depth‐resolved, field‐ and pressure‐dependent μSR$\umu{\rm SR}$ measurements, we show that disorder in Ta‐doped KV3Sb5 drives a crossover from nodal to nodeless superconductivity while strongly modifying the normal‐state magnetic response. Our results reveal that disorder affects superconductivity and magnetism in fundamentally different ways ...

Mechanically Mutable Matrices: A Hierarchical Investigation of Decellularized Sea Cucumber Collagen as an Adaptable Scaffold Material

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sea cucumber mutable collagenous tissue (MCT) is a remarkable collagen‐based material which can rapidly undergo large changes in stiffness through transiently bound effector proteins. Here, we investigate the hierarchical structure and mechanical response of MCT from Cucumaria frondosa across length scales with a wide range of methods, also exploring ...
