Visual-PSNR measure of image quality

Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, 2014
Abstract Objective assessment of image quality is important in numerous image and video processing applications. Many objective measures of image quality have been developed for this purpose, of which peak signal-to-noise ratio PSNR is one of the simplest and commonly used. However, it sometimes does not match well with objective mean opinion scores (

A new combined PSNR for objective video quality assessment

2017 IEEE International Conference on Multimedia and Expo (ICME), 2017
In video coding, quality evaluation is important for improving the coding efficiency. Usually Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) is utilized to measure the performance of different coding techniques. During the video coding process in YCbCr color space, there are three PSNRs, one for each color component.

PSNR and MSE based investigation of LSB

2016 International Conference on Computational Techniques in Information and Communication Technologies (ICCTICT), 2016
This paper provide the detail study of LSB Steganography method and analyzes the PSNR and MSE of LSB data hiding technique on the basis of different message sizes i.e 2KB, 4KB, 8KB in different 256*256 gray scale images in spatial domain. Also a investigation of 128*128 on 1KB and 2KB are given.

Template matching of occluded object under low PSNR

Digital Signal Processing, 2013
A robust template matching using occlusion-free correlation (OFC) coefficient is presented in this paper for the purpose of locating objects partially occluded under low PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) environment. The OFC coefficient can effectively eliminate the negative effect of occlusion on matching score, resulting in providing better accuracy ...

A gray-level clustering reduction algorithm with the least PSNR

Expert Systems with Applications, 2011
Gray-level clustering is an important procedure in image processing, which reduces the gray-level intensity of an image. In order to display a high gray-level image on low gray-level device screen, a good gray-level clustering reduction algorithm is necessary to complete this task.

What statistics is PSNR related using JPEG2000

2008 IEEE Conference on Cybernetics and Intelligent Systems, 2008
JPEG2000 encoder is well designed, it makes full use of the redundant information among the images. Many of us may have the experience that when compress variety of images of different types using it, the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) values vary widely from image to image.

A referenceless PSNR estimator of compressed JPEG images

2016 26th International Conference Radioelektronika (RADIOELEKTRONIKA), 2016
The paper develops a universal procedure to estimate the level of distortions caused by the JPEG compression of an image of any structural content. To determine the quality, we use the PSNR metric. The procedure allows us to employ different stochastic models to predict the variance of the DCT coefficient quantization noise.

Embedding data in edge boundaries with high PSNR

2011 7th International Conference on Emerging Technologies, 2011
Data hiding is one of the most significant aspects in information security. Generally data embedding is achieved in communication, image, text, voice, or multimedia content for copyright, military communication, authentication and many other purposes.

An Algorithm to Control Watermarking Capacity Using PSNR

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
Some existing methods for estimating image watermarking capacity may degenerate the quality of stego-image when the estimated capacity is achieved. In this paper, based on the Region of Interest (ROI) model, we discuss on the capacity problem and the quality of stego-images using PSNR.

On the mDCT-PSNR image quality index

2009 International Workshop on Quality of Multimedia Experience, 2009
Full reference image quality indices assign a quality index to a pair of an undistorted reference image and a distorted image to be assessed; the quality of the index itself is then defined by its ability to predict the outcome of subjective tests performed by human observers judging the quality of the same image pair.
