No reference PSNR estimation for compressed pictures
Proceedings. International Conference on Image Processing, 2003Many user-end applications require an estimate of the quality of coded video or images without having access to the original, i.e. a no-reference quality metric. Furthermore, in many such applications, the compressed video bitstream is also not available.

Stego image quality and the reliability of PSNR
2010 2nd International Conference on Image Processing Theory, Tools and Applications, 2010Digital image steganography is the art of hiding information in other digital images. Moreover, image quality evaluation has many difficulties such as the amount of degradation or distortion induced in the reconstructed image. The peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) is the most common metric used to evaluate the stego image quality.

Predict the MOS and the PSNR by the neural network
2012 International Conference on Multimedia Computing and Systems, 2012In order to change the judgment of the human eye by an objective measure, we present in this paper the new method to measure the quality of the video. This latter predicts the mean opinion score (MOS) and the peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) by providing height parameters extracted from original and coded videos. The eight parameters that are used are:

No-Reference PSNR Estimation for HEVC Encoded Video
IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, 2013Video quality estimation is considered a means of monitoring quality of service in broadcasting or IPTV services. In this paper, a no-reference peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) estimation method is first presented for a quadtree-based motion estimation or compensation and transform coding scheme such as HEVC test model (HM), which is expected to be ...

Modeling and reduction of PSNR fluctuations in 3D wavelet coding
Proceedings 2001 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. No.01CH37205), 2002We study the effects of the quantization of the three-dimensional wavelet transform coefficients, encoded using a 3D zerotree-based compression scheme. The processing of the quantization error operated by the synthesis filter bank actually determines a modulation of the reconstruction error statistics.

An efficient inexact Full Adder cell design in CNFET technology with high-PSNR for image processing
International Journal of Electronics, 2019The design of inexact circuits at the transistor level remarkably improves figures of merits such as power consumption, delay, energy, and area. Therefore, inexact technique for designing circuits has attracted the attention of researchers worldwide ...

PSNR of Highest Distortion Region: An Effective Image Quality Assessment Method
IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section International Conference on Electrical, Computer and Electronics Engineering, 2019Due to various reasons an image may get distorted. To measure the perceptual distortions, image quality assessment (IQA) metrics are required. Peak-signal-to-noise-ratio (PSNR) is one of the popular available IQA metric.
