Bionomics of Bagworms (Lepidoptera: Psychidae)

The bagworm family (Lepidoptera: Psychidae) includes approximately 1000 species, all of which complete larval development within a self-enclosing bag. The family is remarkable in that female aptery occurs in over half of the known species and within 9 of the 10 currently recognized subfamilies.

Die Psychidae-Sammlung des Staatlichen Museums für Naturkunde Karlsruhe (SMNK) (Lepidoptera: Psychidae)

Von 2015 bis 2018 wurden die Sackträger (Psychidae) aus allen einzelnen Schmetterlings-Sammlungen des SMNK in die Hauptsammlung integriert, konservatorisch neu aufgestellt und wissenschaftlich bearbeitet. Die Trockenpräparate (Männchen und Larvalgehäuse, sog. „Säcke“) wurden EDV-erfasst.
