Nucleotides as an Anti‐Aging Supplementation in Older Adults: A Randomized Controlled Trial (TALENTs study)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The TALENTs randomized controlled trial evaluates the potential of nucleotides supplementation as an anti‐aging intervention in older adults. After 19 weeks, nucleotides supplementation significantly reduces DNA methylation age, suggesting a delay in epigenetic aging, and improves insulin sensitivity without severe adverse events.

Dysfunctional Decidual CD4+T Cells Induce Recurrent Pregnancy Loss via Palmitoylation‐Dependent Tim‐3 Lysosomal Sorting and Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dysfunctional decidual CD4+T cells induce recurrent pregnancy loss via palmitoylation‐dependent Tim‐3 lysosomal sorting and degradation. The integrated bioinformatics, proteomic, functional and model studies elucidate that Tim‐3 is palmitoylated by ZDHHC3 at Cys9. Sortilin bound to and directed palmitoylated Tim‐3 toward lysosome degradation, resulting

The accordian and the deep bowl of spaghetti: Eight researchers' experiences of using IPA as a methodology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Since 1996 Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) has grown rapidly and been applied in areas outside its initial “home” of health psychology. However, explorations of its application from a researcher's perspective are scarce.

Gompertz Law‐Based Biological Age (GOLD BioAge): A Simple and Practical Measurement of Biological Ageing to Capture Morbidity and Mortality Risks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Gompertz law‐based biological age metric (GOLD BioAge) introduces interpretable convenient and interpretable calculations to capture mortality, disease, and frailty risks. Its applications to proteomics and metabolomics (ProtAge and MetAge) demonstrate clinical potential to enhance aging evaluation and prevent age‐related diseases.

Bidirectional Interaction Between the Brain and Bone in Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) disrupts the blood–brain barrier and activates neuroimmune responses, causing metabolic disturbances and long‐term bone mass loss. Concurrent fractures accelerate healing and enhance osteogenesis but disrupt regulatory mechanisms, leading to altered bone dynamics and exacerbating neuroinflammation, complicating recovery ...

AI‐Driven Defecation Analysis by Smart Healthcare Toilet: Exploring Biometric Patterns and Eu‐Tenesmus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A healthcare toilet system is introduced to passively measure defecation behavior. Real‐time data on stool dropping duration, thickness, and a newly defined “eu‐tenesmus” interval show correlations with stool form and gender differences. Results from 45 defecation events reveal a promising method for comprehensive defecation analysis.

Sustained‐Release Photothermal Microneedles for Postoperative Incisional Analgesia and Wound Healing via Hydrogen Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a novel transdermal delivery system of molecular hydrogen for postoperative pain relief and wound healing. This system utilizes sustained‐release photothermal microneedles to integrate hydrogen‐releasing nanoparticles and temperature‐responsive microspheres, achieving acid‐responsive hydrogen release and controlled drug release ...

Service responses to survivors of sexual violence : perspectives of National Health Service and voluntary sector professionals on inter-agency working with survivors [PDF]

open access: yes
The first chapter of this thesis critically reviews the existing literature on Restorative Justice (RJ) for crimes of sexual violence. It considers whether RJ has a contribution to make to the psychological wellbeing of survivors, provides clinicians ...
