How do we accurately measure mind wandering? This review compares five methods: from self‐reports (prone to bias) to brain scans (precise but expensive). No single method captures all aspects, so we propose the MAMW framework—a unified approach combining strengths of each technique.

ABSTRACT Background Mechanical detection thresholds (MDTs) are used to assess somatosensory function but can only be evaluated considering the individual sex, age and tested body region. The German Research Network on Neuropathic Pain (DFNS) provides reference values for OptiHair2, a sensitive and expensive glass filament, while nylon filaments such as

A Novel Investigation of an In‐Scanner Alternative to the Cold Pressor Test in Healthy Individuals
We propose cold gelled‐water paradigm as the closest in‐scanner alternative to the cold pressor task for healthy individuals. Using ICA, seed‐based connectivity and spDCM, we reveal descending pain control engagement, PAG‐cortical functional disengagement and dynamic connectivity changes, offering new insights into the neural mechanisms of tonic cold ...

Neonatal protein intake affects dorsal stream function in 7‐year‐old children born very preterm. Increased protein intake is associated with a larger V5 BOLD response and better motion coherence thresholds. ABSTRACT The dorsal stream vulnerability hypothesis suggests that preterm birth may preferentially impair development of the dorsal visual pathway.
