Olanzapine Response in Psychotic Depression
The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, 1999Psychotic depression is more common than is generally realized, occurring in an estimated 16% to 54% of depressed patients. In controlled studies of patients with schizophrenia, the atypical antipsychotic olanzapine has been shown to be superior in efficacy to haloperidol at doses of 10 mg/day.

Response to dexamethasone in psychotic depression
Psychiatry Research, 1983The utility of the dexamethasone suppression test (DST) in the diagnosis of psychotic depression was examined by comparing the responses of 11 psychotic and 18 nonpsychotic depressed inpatients. Nine of 11 psychotic patients (81.8%) and 10 of 18 nonpsychotic patients (55.6%) showed nonsuppression (nonsignificant).
