Halting Pterygium Recurrence by Postoperative 5-Fluorouracil
Cornea, 2001To investigate the efficacy of postoperative 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) in halting recurrence of pterygium.Early recurrence of pterygium was detected in six eyes of six patients aged 40 to 66 years that, over a 3-year period, had undergone pterygium excision in our institution, using the "bare sclera" technique.

Epithelial ingrowth following surgery of recurrent pterygium
International Ophthalmology, 2007Epithelial ingrowth is a rare but devastating condition of the eye, known to complicate incisional ocular procedures. We report a case of secondary glaucoma due to epithelial ingrowth following limbal conjunctival autograft in a case of recurrent pterygium.

Twelve eyes of 10 patients operated on for recurrent pterygia at the Department of Ophthalmology, University Hospital Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic, were involved in this study. All surgeries were done under the local anesthesia.

Deep Lamellar Keratoplasty for Recurrent Advanced Pterygium
Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 2009The authors report a case of recurrent advanced pterygium managed by deep lamellar keratoplasty and conjunctival autograft. A woman presented with bilateral recurrent advanced pterygium (more prevalent in the left eye) associated with corneal thinning in the left eye. Two-thirds of the cornea was covered by pterygia.
