Thermal conductivity of PTFE and PTFE composites

Thermochimica Acta, 2002
Abstract The thermal conductivity of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) was studied using an instrumented thermal conductivity apparatus (Lees’ disk) and by DSC. The former method was used to study the effect of incorporating fillers into a PTFE/glass fiber fabric used for conveyor belts in food processing.

Lubricated wear of PTFE and graphited PTFE

Lubrication Science, 1991
AbstractTribological behaviour of PTFE and graphited PTFE have been evaluated under lubricated conditions and compared with dry wear. The stress selected is in the range of 0.44 to 1.64 MPa, and the data generated are relevant to conformal contacts. Mineral oil lubrication can reduce wear of PTFE by one to two orders of magnitude.

Processing and Properties of PTFE-FEP-PTFE Ferroelectret Films

Ferroelectrics, 2011
This paper describes the manufacture of porous polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and fluoroethylenepropylene (FEP) films by pressing PTFE-FEP-PTFE films between metallic meshes to produce a porous ferroelectret material. The influence of uniaxial pressing force and processing conditions (temperature and presence of a vacuum between the polymer films) on ...

Study of Abrasive Wear Volume Map for PTFE and PTFE Composites

Applied Composite Materials, 2007
The potential of this work is based on consideration of wear volume map for the evaluation of abrasive wear performance of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and PTFE composites. The fillers used in the composite are 25% bronze, 35% graphite and 17% glass fibre glass (GFR).

Bleeding through PTFE grafts

European Journal of Vascular Surgery, 1987
There have been four cases in which there has been bleeding through PTFE grafts at the time of implantation. In each case the initial leaking through needle holes stopped completely within 5 mins. About 10 mins after the graft had been opened there appeared leaking through the interstices of the graft (without further bleeding at the needle holes ...
