Magnetic Field Control Using an Electromagnetic Actuation System with Combined Air‐Core and Metal‐Core Coils

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
An electromagnetic manipulation system enhances magnetic field strength in the Z‐direction for 3D control of microrobots and nanoparticles. Featuring eight metal‐core coils and two air‐core coils arranged hemispherically, it ensures unimpeded workspace access and integrates imaging tools.

Percutaneous transhepatic portography (PTP).

open access: yesKanzo, 1980

Biomarker‐Agnostic Detection of Ovarian Cancer from Blood Plasma Using a Machine Learning‐Driven Electronic Nose

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study introduces a biomarker‐agnostic diagnostic strategy for ovarian cancer, utilizing a machine learning‐enhanced electronic nose to analyze volatile organic compound signatures from blood plasma. By overcoming the dependence on specific biomarkers, this approach enables accurate detection, staging, and cancer type differentiation, offering a ...

Systematic Review of Post-Traumatic Parkinsonism, an Emerging Parkinsonian Disorder Among Survivors of Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesNeurotrauma Reports
This systematic review focuses on an increasing subset of traumatic brain injury (TBI) survivors who develop post-traumatic parkinsonism (PTP), characterized by slowness of movement (bradykinesia), rigidity (stiffness), postural instability, and resting ...

Biodegradable and Bioinspired UV Light Recognition via Sustainable Synaptic Transistors for Artificial Intelligence Vision Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
We report a biodegradable electrolyte‐gated synaptic phototransistor that combines low‐power UV sensing with memory functionality, offering a sustainable platform for AI vision systems and health‐monitoring technologies. Presented here is a biodegradable, bioinspired synaptic phototransistor (SPT) based on an electrolyte‐gated field‐effect transistor ...

Knocking down low molecular weight protein tyrosine phosphatase (LMW-PTP) reverts chemoresistance through inactivation of Src and Bcr-Abl proteins.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
The development of multidrug resistance (MDR) limits the efficacy of continuous chemotherapeutic treatment in chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML). Low molecular weight protein tyrosine phosphatase (LMW-PTP) is up-regulated in several cancers and has been ...

Entropy‐Guided Convolutional Neural Network Classification of Sensor Signals for Real‐Time Surface Quality Monitoring in Direct Laser Interference Patterning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Neural‐network pipeline for real‐time DLIP surface‐quality monitoring: spectral entropy of WLI topographies is used to generate interpretable K‐means labels, which are transferred to time‐resolved photodiode traces. A compact dual‐input 1D‐CNN (signal + laser parameters) learns discriminative spatiotemporal features and predicts “OK/NOK” surface ...

Pair-wise regulation of convergence and extension cell movements by four phosphatases via RhoA. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Various signaling pathways regulate shaping of the main body axis during early vertebrate development. Here, we focused on the role of protein-tyrosine phosphatase signaling in convergence and extension cell movements.

Evolutionary radiation of large‐bodied gorgonopsians from the lower Abrahamskraal formation of South Africa

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The middle Permian represents a critical interval in therapsid evolution, when gorgonopsians emerged as some of the first specialized apex predators within terrestrial ecosystems. Despite their significance, the early diversification of Gorgonopsia in Gondwana remains poorly understood due to scarcity and fragmentary material.
