Comparison of methanol oxidations on Pt, Pt|Ru and Pt|Sn electrodes
Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 1998Abstract Electrochemical oxidations of methanol were compared on smooth or high area platinum, platinum|tin and platinum|ruthenium electrodes. On smooth platinum, while ruthenium promoted the catalytic activities steadily according to the coverage, tin showed an enhancing effect only for a short period of time because of the dissolution of tin from ...

Effect of Pt Oxidation on Pt Resistance Thermometry
Metrologia, 1980The effect of Pt oxidation on the electrical resistance of four different Pt resistance thermometers is investigated. It is shown that this process can cause large, undesirable resistance changes in these thermometers in spite of the low partial pressures of oxygen contained within them.

The function of zeolite on Pt autoreduction and dispersion in Pt/L and Pt/? catalysts
Catalysis Letters, 1996TPR, CO-FTIR and129Xe NMR spectroscopic techniques were used to measure the distribution of platinum species after the calcination of Pt/L and Pt/Β zeolites. Autoreduction which occurred in Pt/Β zeolite was avoided in the channel of L zeolite. Pt particles dispersed well and exhibited excellent reactivity for the aromatization ofn-hexane in L zeolite.

The capacitance of Pt/Pb0.65La0.28Ti0.96O3/Pt structures
Applied Physics Letters, 1996The capacitance/voltage characteristics of thin paraelectric lead lanthanum titanate films are measured using platinum electrodes. The films have a maximum capacitance when either a small positive or negative bias voltage is applied. This characteristic is consistent with the electrode interfaces acting as Schottky-like barriers.

The intermediacy of CO/NO substitution in the condensation of [Pt(19)(CO)(22)](4-) into [Pt(38)(CO)(44)](2-) (structure shown) has been demonstrated. Two high-nuclearity carbonyl metal clusters, including one with an unprecedented nitrosyl ligand, have been synthesized and structurally characterized.
