A depth–spatial alignment method for multi‐source point clouds on large‐scale construction sites

open access: yesComputer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, Volume 40, Issue 29, Page 5719-5746, 9 December 2025.
Abstract Three‐dimensional (3D) site models form the digital foundation for modern construction management. However, creating these models from multi‐source imagery presents two key challenges: accurately georeferencing camera poses during wide‐view acquisition and precisely aligning multiple point clouds that possess non‐uniform accuracy.

Panoramic Background Modeling for PTZ Cameras with Competitive Learning Neural Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The construction of a model of the background of a scene still remains as a challenging task in video surveillance systems, in particular for moving cameras.

Dual Dynamic PTZ Tracking Using Cooperating Cameras

open access: yesIntelligent Control and Automation, 2015
This paper presents a real-time, dynamic system that uses high resolution gimbals and motorized lenses with position encoders on their zoom and focus elements to “recalibrate” the system as needed to track a target. Systems that initially calibrate for a mapping between pixels of a wide field of view (FOV) master camera and the pan-tilt (PT) settings ...

Advances in gene therapy for Lafora disease: Intravenous recombinant adeno‐associated virus‐mediated delivery of EPM2A and EPM2B genes

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 11, November 2025.
Intravenous gene therapy with rAAV2/9P31 vectors delivering EPM2A or EPM2B reversed Lafora disease pathology and restored neuronal function in two mouse models. The approach showed comparable or superior efficacy to intracerebroventricular delivery, with no long‐term toxicity, supporting its translational potential.

A Comprehensive Survey of Potential Game Approaches to Wireless Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Potential games form a class of non-cooperative games where unilateral improvement dynamics are guaranteed to converge in many practical cases. The potential game approach has been applied to a wide range of wireless network problems, particularly to a ...

Freight rail activity inventory system using a vision‐based deep learning framework

open access: yesComputer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, Volume 40, Issue 27, Page 4692-4717, 14 November 2025.
Abstract Rail freight serves as a reliable cost‐effective and fuel‐efficient mode for long‐distance ground freight transportation. Existing rail data sources rely heavily on aggregate reports that lead to significant spatiotemporal data gaps for infrastructure planning and regulatory evaluation.

Evaluation of trackers for Pan-Tilt-Zoom Scenarios

open access: yes, 2017
Tracking with a Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) camera has been a research topic in computer vision for many years. Compared to tracking with a still camera, the images captured with a PTZ camera are highly dynamic in nature because the camera can perform large ...

Effects of automation on situation awareness in controlling robot teams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Declines in situation awareness (SA) often accompany automation. Some of these effects have been characterized as out-of-the-loop, complacency, and automation bias.

Integrating multiple sensor modalities for environmental monitoring of marine locations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper we present preliminary work on integrating visual sensing with the more traditional sensing modalities for marine locations. We have deployed visual sensing at one of the Smart Coast WSN sites in Ireland and have built a software ...
