Radiographic and Ultrasonographic Study of the Etiology of High‐Rise Syndrome in Cats: A Retrospective Analysis

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.
This retrospective study analysed the etiology and imaging (radiographic/ultrasonographic) findings in 120 cats with high‐rise syndrome. Most affected cats were under 1 year old and fell from the third floor. The survival rate was 92.5%. Pulmonary contusions were the most frequent soft tissue injury, occurring in 45% of cases . Population‐specific validation of long bone linear discriminant analysis against morphoscopic pelvic methods for sex estimation in contemporary Italian skeletal remains

open access: yesJournal of Forensic Sciences, Volume 71, Issue 3, Page 1388-1397, May 2026.
Abstract Sex estimation represents a fundamental step in forensic identification protocols, traditionally relying on morphoscopic pelvic assessment. However, the increasing integration of machine learning approaches and population‐specific validation requirements necessitate comprehensive evaluation of alternative methodologies. This study provides the
