The influence of public self-consciousness and anger on aggressive driving

Personality and Individual Differences, 2007
This study examined how anger interacted with public self-consciousness to influence aggressive driving. It was hypothesized that when people were angry, more aggressive driving behavior would occur when public self-consciousness was low than when public self-consciousness was high.

Private Self-Consciousness, Public Self-Consciousness, and Trait Anxiety

Psychological Reports, 1981
In 1975, Fenigstein, Scheier, and Buss (2) published a scale to measure individual differences in self-consciousness. Three subscales were differentiated: private self-consciousness, public self-consciousness, and social anxiety. Assessment of Private and Public Self-Consciousness: A Dutch Replication

Journal of Personality Assessment, 1981
In the present article a replication of a study by Fenigstein, Scheier and Buss (1975), who constructed a Self-Consciousness Scale (SCS), is reported. The SCS was translated into Dutch, and its properties and its relation to Locus of Control was investigated. The norms and reliability coefficients presented are consistent with prior research.

Psychological Reports, 1986

Lennox ( 2 ) obtained only a moderate correlation between social anxiety and cross-situational variability and no ...

Personality correlates of public and private self consciousness
