Abstract In December 2022, Cristiano Ronaldo, five‐time Ballon d’Or winner and the most‐followed person on Instagram, signed for Al‐Nassr in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This marked one of several expensive, recent interventions by the kingdom in global sports markets. We exploit the timing of this event to estimate superstar effects.

The Liquidity Sprint: Short‐Term Cash Needs and Access to Credit

ABSTRACT We identify the causal drivers of the COVID‐19 ‘dash‐for‐cash’ in Europe using a hand‐collected panel of Euro‐area firms (2018‐Q4–2020‐Q3). Exploiting regional infection intensity as an instrument, we find that a one‐unit EBITDA decline raised credit‐line utilization by 15.5 percentage points in 2020‐Q2. Reputation and Asset Prices: Evidence From Trump Real Estate

ABSTRACT We analyze the impact of brand reputation on asset prices by exploiting the prominence of Donald Trump in Manhattan real estate. Our quasi‐experiment identifies a 14.5% discount to condominiums in Trump‐branded buildings after controversies surrounding Trump's presidential candidacy began in June 2015 up to 2022.
