Redefining Therapies for Drug‐Resistant Tuberculosis: Synergistic Effects of Antimicrobial Peptides, Nanotechnology, and Computational Design

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Antimicrobial peptide (AMP)‐loaded nanocarriers provide a multifunctional strategy to combat drug‐resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis. By enhancing intracellular delivery, bypassing efflux pumps, and disrupting bacterial membranes, this platform restores phagolysosome fusion and macrophage function.

The fiscal impact of population aging in Brazil: 2005-2050

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Estudos de População, 2013
In this paper, we estimate the fiscal impact on population aging in Brazil from 2005 through 2050. We focus on three key areas of public spending: education, pensions, and health care. Our projections are based on a simple model in which aggregate public

Facet‐Selective Electrostatic Assembling of 2D Mxene onto Anisotropic Single‐Crystal Metal Oxides for Enhanced Photocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Overcoming random aggregation, Facet‐Selective Electrostatic Assembly (FSEA) achieves site‐specific integration of 2D MXenes onto 3D TiO2 supports. This electrostatic assembling creates optimized interface energy junctions that facilitate spatial charge transfer.

Navigating Ternary Doping in Li‐ion Cathodes With Closed‐Loop Multi‐Objective Bayesian Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The search for advanced battery materials is pushing us into highly complex composition spaces. Here, a space with about 14 million unique combinations is efficiently explored using high‐throughput experimentation guided by Bayesian optimization with a deep kernel trained on both the Materials Project database and our data.

Perspective on Aqueous Batteries: Historical Milestones and Modern Revival

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review retraces the development of aqueous batteries from classical Zn‐MnO2 chemistry to modern Zn and Ni systems, correlating voltage, capacity, and electrolyte formulation with practical performance. By mapping historical success and failure onto current and future research directions, it identifies guiding principles that steer the design of ...

The Public Commodities Problem [PDF]

open access: yes
One person's public good is another's public bad and so, perhaps, the public goods problem could be more generally described as the public commodities problem, in which disagreement about the basic goal of a spending program complicates the decision of ...
